In the trials, we did these scrum base moves like the panthers. Where did they go?

A bit of both really you still have to make sure you are racking up enough wins though.

No point pacing ourselves and finishing 6th or 7th. History proves its almost impossible to win the comp from there.

I did agree with BA before the season about not apologising for starting fast as it takes pressure off you for must win games at origin time and back end of the year and keeps you away from the logjam in the middle.

This week is a big game as we do have a tough 3 match patch coming up and if we are 1-4 or 1-5 tough to come back and pressure will build externally.

And 55% against Sharks for 1 miracle try and 1 other.

Twice we have 20+ tackle on their line and didn't creat one chance.

I said this last year. Many of Mahoney try assists where from the crash play. I'm sure we still will get a few this year but teams have already work it out. He has tried atleast 7-10 so far this year and they've all been stopped.

The crash play keeps the defence honest, as does the short kick behind the line. We need a few more of those.

More support play

When we play safe and rely on possessions and completions we are far less threatening.

The up and in style defence on the edges is risky as well. Right hand side defence has been a weak point no matter who we have there.

Most teams have good enough attack to beat us on that side. Has been frustrating to see us leak so many points on that side over many years and continue with the same attacking structures. It seems stupidly stubborn.

I feel like the defence is the easier first fix and the confidence in attack will come from that.
