Having JAC outside him is a massive reason for his form improvement too. Having a winger with decent football IQ is an underrated quality and makes a huge difference defensively for a centre - Lomax is lightyears behind in that respect.
Look I don’t get the Lomax criticism. Sure he has made errors but Jesus Christ the bloke does it because he is trying too hard.

His game last night was his best for us in my opinion and I don’t care about stats. He did so much hard stuff and the bloke gets absolutely BASHED every game and he is no pea heart, he puts his hand up for more.

Silly decisions at times or not, that guy is an absolute workhorse and I love him for it. His tough stuff paves the way for others to shine.

I always thought of JAC as the kind of winger who only plays well in a strong team. I assumed he would disappear in our struggling side but he's been awesome.

His stats were actually very good (again) last night. On top of all the runs, tries and post contact metres, he managed to make 11 tackles as well. I agree he's an awesome player. The errors are just part of the package.

Wasn't intended to be an outright criticism of Lomax, more a testament to JAC's skillset - there's a reason why we've conceded less tries on the left wing than right and it isn't because Russell became a better tackler. And the "trying too hard" aspect is very much part of football IQ; he overplays his hand on occasion and it's been costly at times.

All that being said, Lomax is a huge part of any success we've had this year, but critiquing his performances constructively isn't a bad thing.

I watched the try unfold, dropped my head, was thinking it was unfair to lose like that, switched my Kayo app off, came here to post how heartbreaking it was...

And then I saw you guys celebrating.

What a ride!

What a mammoth effort from this young Eels team!
Ah the emotion. Swearing at the TV one second, cheering the next. Proved a real downer to what became a win!

I agree Lomax is probably a dumb footballer but he ticks every other box. It also explains why he's not a genuine option at fullback. They need good instincts.

Agree completely.

But I do think the refs tried their best to give Brisbane the win yesterday.
The ref was better than average BUT he did give Broncos a few 6 agains for ruck interference which I couldn't see whereas Broncos laid all over us and we couldn't buy one. After Flanagan's outburst last week maybe they are being slightly less showing bias against the lesser teams (for at least 1 week anyway before resuming normal behaviour).
