It would be nice if it was just the coaching. Our recruitment/retention is poor, and Gutherson thinking he can extort an extra couple hundred grand out of us is more evidence of that.

And this is my biggest problem right now. It's clear that we are not on the same level as the Storms and Panfers and obviously Manly and Souffs... And yet we've made no tactical moves to improve this squad for 2022. Acknowledging that there are no real superstars available, we could still have been asking about the likes of Connor Watson or Xavier Coates before he signed with the Storm. We seem more or less content with the starting 17, no real efforts to improve even though we're a couple of lengths behind the pacesetter's

Regarding the intial Lussick penalty, i get it can be a dangerous tackle

but if the forward is standing in the tackle and still in motion / and or looking to offload , what is the defence meant to do?

why wouldn’t you tackle the legs to put the player on the ground? It’s the refs responsibility to call held if the only option to force a play the ball could be dangerous…

but if the forward is standing in the tackle and still in motion / and or looking to offload , what is the defence meant to do?

You have to make initial contact at the hip or above and then you can slide down to the lower leg. It has been that rule for many years. Everyone is aware of it. It was f**ken stupidity from Lussick.

Teams do it all the time, i don't know why some are called and a lot aren't.

It is just like the hand on the ball penalty........still can never figure out how they let so many go and then randomly call one.

That was just dumb from Lussick, he went in with force, all he needs to do is grab at the legs
