Rd22: Parra v Titans LIVE GAME DAY thread 16/8/19

We were never going to get a finals quality game out of playing the Titans where they are now

Yeah. Not a perfect game by any measure but pretty much what we should have expected when playing a team like that. Obviously there was some complacency but there's good reason for it. I'm sure when we play good teams we'll take the two when it's obvious. Probably.

We can win a Finals game. Maybe even two, depending on who we’re playing and where. But if we lose in the first week of the Finals I don’t think it’s going to be the worst thing ever. We’ve just come back from a spoon and are building nicely. What I’m most concerned about is how we will go next year rather than how many Finals games we win this year.

To be honest I'm not sure we will easily replace Ma'u. Certainly not with anyone currently at the club and I'd imagine someone better is going to cost a bit.

Thoughts. Who is more skillfull or would chose. MANU or Lane?
Lanes ability to offload in traffic is special.
I'm sure we will find a replacement. May not have the passing skills but will have other qualities.

Niukore won't replace some of the things Ma'u can do. He might be a runner, but he has nowhere near the skills.

Marata has more power but less skill.

Yeah Fifita seems handy, not sure that will happen though.

This year has been a success/improvement no matter what happens from here.

But what we do next year is more important, we need to keep building and play finals regularly then with some luck one year anything can happen (like sharks / cowboys)

However we havent been very successful having 2 good years in row, in 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2017 we have had a good year followed by a massive let down!!
