Our forwards made good meters last night, we had the platform set. I want to see Mitch take the line on a bit more, it's like he has gone into his shell abit.
Shitting the bed = not getting back to 16 all.
Brisbane had one good set in golden point and jagged a field goal. Golden point is plop. Give both teams a point for the draw.
That’s were the immaturity of Brown works against us. How good when we have both Mitch and Brown playing at their potential? Our forwards made good meters last night, we had the platform set. I want to see Mitch take the line on a bit more, it's like he has gone into his shell abit.
Moses can only play in the space that his forwards provide him. Harsh.
Agree that we need two forwards. How can we compete with the broncos who seem to be re-signing everyone under their sombrero?
We have a few coming through. Hopefully Stefano, Kaufusi, and those tall timber props from flegg have great off seasons.
RCG would be good.
Yep I’ve noticed that too in the last few weeks. It’s completely an attitude thing. One other thing that has annoyed the f*** out of me the last few weeks is we RARELY ever pressure the kicker. Happens to us, but we don't do it ourselves. It's those little 1%ers that can turn a game.
What if he wears crocs? Look out!
Gower didn't like the fast line speed all right. Unfortunately we aren't that well prepared to counter it either. Someone with a good short kicking game would soon have the defenders thinking twice about rushing up. Nobody seems willing to try this.Gutho: Played solid and offered good left side opportunities.
Sivo: did not let us down. Did everything we asked of him.
Jennings: struggled without space and clean ball.
Blake: struggled without space and clean ball.
Fergo: great game but below his standards. Was unlucky not to be given the last try.
Brown: is still learning his trade. Good defender etc but needs to step up.
Moses: busy and energetic. Line speed crowded him and madehim panic. We would have won had he not had an off night with the boot.
Alvaro: not a lock. Best suited for a 17 benchie. Played fair.
Manu: had to go looking for the ball in the middle to cause any trouble.
Lane: had to do a lot of Nathan Brown work up the middle which zapped his energy. Great game otherwise.
Jnr: played long minutes and was our enforcer today
Evans: same as jnr. Did not take a backwards step.
Reedy: was busy but seems to be taking on too much. Seems to have the Nathan Hindmarsh gene and thinks he needs to do everything. Relax and trust the guy next to you.
Marata: strong runs up the middle. Hits hard.
Terapo: did not cone of the back fence. Quiet game this week
Gower: did not like the fast line speed. It disrupted his late footwork. Madehim ineffective.
Taka: i liked his fresh legs contributions in the last 20. Hwas the reason why we started to throw the ball around.
I thought our forwards did a decent job and the last 20 mins were winning the battle, Moses just didn't seem to want to take control and grab the game by the scruff of the neck. How many time did we go the blind side on the 4th to end up in a poor spot only for Moses to be 20m away from the ball and waiting for a shitty pass to put in a rushed kick??? Was that that play go the blind side in the last because we couldn't have Brown to hog it???Moses can only play in the space that his forwards provide him. Harsh.

At least that one floated forward. Guthos pass was backwards the entire timeIIRC we won a game a few weeks ago when they had a floater called forward.
This. It's his team now so he needs to step up and prove it.Our forwards made good meters last night, we had the platform set. I want to see Mitch take the line on a bit more, it's like he has gone into his shell abit.
I think its time for Dyl to get more involved, it seems he has been given a role and he has to stick to it but Mitch has too much to do as the real only attacking kicking option on the last.He needs another option to give clean ball to when rushed at by defence on 5th.
f**king great post.I actually think we're a pretty good team.
Yes, we lack some discipline. But, I think, equally importantly, we are also over enthusiastic sometimes, and we need to learn to control that. Yes, that's discipline, but an important facet of it that needs its own attention.
Alright, let's f**king smash them! Penalty.
Alright, let's throw this f**king ball around! Drop it.
And we get in that crazy mindset and just lose composure. But I'm ok with that. We f**king came last in 2018. LAST!!!
We're making good metres, we've got good outside backs, we can throw some damned fine offloads and Moses has a good kicking game - when we don't get over-enthusiastic.
400+ more metres, more offloads, 3 tries to 2. We lost because Moses had an uncharacteristically poor night kicking goals. That's it.
We'll probably end up playing the Broncos in Rd. 1 of the Finals and we'll f**king smash them at home. Hopefully, we then face the Bunnies, because we'll f**king smash them, too. All we'll need to do, then, is pull one good game out of our arses and we'll be in the GF. Hell, even if we lose that game, we were still in the final four.
So, in summary - take your pessimism and cram it up your ringhole. We're a pretty good team, and if we nab a front rower for next year that's worth anything then we'll be even better and maybe a genuine Top 4 team.
Drown is a great kicker. Im sure its the game plan preventing him from greater involvment or Moses overplaying his role. Definitely dont need another Moses V Normy scenario.Glaring thing for me, and a couple of people have mentioned it
Is another field kicker
The better sides are just gonna gun for Moses on the 5th tackle knowing there is no one else, especially when we are in our own 40 and not getting a roll on. He is pressured too much a lot of the time.
We really need to address / mix this part of our game up, especially if we manage to get through week 1 of the finals
We got back to 16 all and had all the momentum, and as usual we shit the bed in a pressure situation.

Just a quick look, they had 3 forwards made 100 plus metre:
Hass - 234
Fifita - 141
Lodge - 153
Next best was Gillet at 93 then Carrigan at 71.
We had 5 players made 100 plus metres
Evans - 173
Paulo - 148
Marata - 110
Lane - 181
Alvaro - 117
Next best was Manu with 96.
Tackle busts was 36 to 24, a fair difference but not massively.
