The red zone defence was really good, but we’re still conceding too much in the middle of the field and letting teams get into our end too easily. I’m surprised at how many tackles just aren’t sticking and how much second phase play we’re letting happen. Mahoney especially just seems to be falling off tackles after making decent first contact. Bit of a worry I reckon.

Yes, we certainly fall off one on one tackles. I actually noticed that tonight. But it isn't just Mahoney. There was many offenders tonight doing that.
We could have shut down so many of their attacking raids if we'd just made those tackles.
I'm sure that's something that the bald one will work on.

We made it so hard on ourselves. Just individual mistakes kill us. Whether it’s shit defence, Mahoney dropping the ball and taking wrong options. Waqa having a good game then dropping 3 kicks. We make it hard.

very entertaining game. The big concern is Blake on the wing. The outside backs suck.

He just needs some practice fielding kicks under pressure. He's always been awesome under attacking kicks.

They have Coates and Grant to come back. Two origin players. And maybe Welch but not likely. Tui and Jennings prob won't be.

We have Marata,Matto,Sivo,Russel to inject and I still feel Bryce once fit gets onto the bench. We've got more in the tank for sure.

I feel Penrith but might be side to beat. Seeing that kid Tago who has replaced Burton. This kids special. They Taylon May on the wing. Another star in the making. Nathan to come back. They will be the bench mark once fit I feel? Its earl days and only a fool would base judgement after 3 games. It's a long season.
