Why the fu*k wouldnt you do whatever it takes to get Ciraldo, the Pennys defensive coach, into your organisation. Just look at what The Chooks former defensive coach, Fitzgibbon, is doing for The Sharks. Ffs MON. Open your fu*king eyes. Do we seriously prefer Kidwell to Ciraldo? Make it happen.

Penrith's attack was pretty good under Barrett. Coaching isn't the silver bullet, recruitment/retention is. Penrith's defence is so good because they have two halves who are strong defenders and a small, mobile pack with no slugs in it.

Knees in a tackle that leads to broken ribs and a punctured lung doesn't get you an 8 point try.

what do you think Campbell should have done when Russell dove to the ground 1.5 metres from the line? What would you have done if you were the fullback? He hit him with his shoulder and knee at the same time. What were his options? Just jump over him and let him score? Spear him head first? There was zero malice in the tackle, he was flying across field trying to stop a try, he didn't slide in knees first, he just got as low as he could. The fact that the attacker gets injured is completely irrelevant. And suspending the player doesn't get Russel back on the field. If one of our players did what Campbell did, I expect the same treatment.

Do you think the incident last night warranted an 8 point try? Don't forget Campbell did make contact with Russell's head with his forearm.

he barely touched russell's head - no more than happens 80 times a game - it didn't warrant anything

I think the biggest difference with last night's incident is that he intentionally put his foot towards the scorers head ... i don't think any intention to kick him, just thought he might get his leg under and stop the ball getting down .... I don't think it was particularly bad but they did decide that was bad (immediately after they let billy slater get away with it)

Sliding in with the knee's is a penalty. Just like a tackle that connects with the chest/shoulders and hits a player in the head. No intent, but still a foul.

It feels like players leading with legs/knees only happens on their own goal line. Nowhere else on the field when attempting or assisting a tackle do players slide/lead with their legs.... Why is it so?
