I generally look at out first kick chase and defending line speed after 2 or 3 sets and know if we are in the game or not.
Our chasers after kicks are 30m away from their fullback return.
We generally wait for them to uproach us in defense rather limit their meters.
How many time has thurston or other halves kicked and been first one down to tackle.
We allow teams easy meters and become exhausted pushing out of our half then and causing mental fatigue and brain snaps I believe
I did notice one player in particular who made the effort to get up in front of his teammates. Mr C Norman

Much better defensive effort yesterday. As everyone has said we are beyond pedestrian in attack. Had plenty of chances and came up with sweet f.a. WTF are they doing at training? Can the halves not isolate a player for someone to run at? Can we hold the ball and complete sets?

We did enough to win yesterday. We had enough ball. But we are clueless in attack. This has to fall on BA, Moses and Norman.

I thought we were pretty good yesterday considering we are missing 3 genuine first graders.

If we were playing with confidence we would have won yesterday. The fact we are lacking confidence our attack is suffering but if we keep defending well the attack (confidence) will come.

The loss yesterday really was a big kick in the guts and honestly felt like rock bottom.

Getting flogged by 50 was rock bottom. We have been ascending from the bowels of hell ever since. Just not fast enough.

Yes we get it he can tackle, so can Mannah. Plenty of first grade props can tackle well and hit the ball up well. These two might be good defenders but get belted carting it up.
If all you can do is defend then I want to see some sort of Morley style hits.
When has either pulled off a bone crunching tackle? The answer is never. They both try hard and work. Same as Scott. They all could do a handy job in most nrl teams.
We do not need all 3 of them.

Check out the Dragons pack.
No we don't and that is part of the problem. We need attacking players who can also defend but we're short of them so we're too top heavy in defending players. You can add Moeroa to that list so that makes 4. Scott is surplus to our needs and needs to be dropped for an attacking player. Also I wouldn't have started T-Rex who is playing some strong football. Bring him into the action after 20 mins as a shock weapon.

At least our commitment and pride in our jumper was evident today which has been sadly lacking in the previous 4 matches. Unfortunately our handling let us down badly when in opposition's 20. Do we panic or get anxious which leads to poor handling as I lost count of the number of dropped balls?

Can someone explain to me why we didn't take a shot at goal, 2 in first half and 1 in second? That would have put us up 12-10 and from there we may have won the game.

I think it’s even more disheartening losing when you are so close. We needed that 2 pts so badly. It was like dangling chocolate in front of a kid and taking it away lol

So much criticism of our attack - what about those hopeless Panthers who managed only one try yesterday - from a kick as well. Hopeless.

Storm are having trouble scoring tries, so are Sharks,Tigers and Broncos. I just think the defence is getting so much better across the comp, and the high penalty counts are causing less fatigue, and also so many sides are kicking for goal instead of attacking.

We are not alone in the struggle to score tries.

Pritchard, Moses and Norman created three line breaks. That's three more than the entire Penrith team. What happens after a line break comes down to a lot of factors but there were very few opportunities over 80 minutes for either team. Support play, scrambling defence, luck - these are all factors.

f**k yeah! If he breaks a tackle every two games at 34, imagine how many he will break when he is 37!

Beau will play a few more good games followed by more poor ones. It isnt that his heart isnt in it he is just old.Time has caught up with him.
His best was at Saints. We gave him his pay day.
Dont forget BA also wanted to give Frank a spot in the top 30

And by the way - where the f**k was everyone yesterday? 10,000 for a local derby when our side needs our support. At least 2-3 thousand were panthers supporters so a really piss poor roll up from our fickle fans.

Lol. Yay negativity!!!

Is there any evidence that anyone has said he'll be the saviour?

He'll bring his infectious attitude at the very least.

I'd keep him out for as long as possible to ensure he won't reinjure it. This season is over. No point risking him. BA has to remain firm, and not go for quick fixes.
