Just got home after a long shit drive up the Hume Hwy... f**k that is a shit road trip after a loss.

For what it's worth, old mate Henry apparently told The King that he didn't think it was a forward pass but the touchie was in a better position so he went with his call... the f**ker should have overruled the idiot touchie.

Twas a tough night and Berra simply exploited us. Well done to them, hope the team recovers for a good showing on EM

Gutho needs to stop with the quick taps from penalties. He runs 15m tops, where as a kick gets you at least 25 - 30m plus 10m from the first hit up. The chances of getting a player binned or running through the whole team from a quick tap are extremely low. I hope someone has words with Gutho about this. We need to be smart and this is a simple area to fix.

Just one of those games, we couldn't win a trick in the first half, our handling compounded by some poor decisions an Fergo's broken nose all added up to sap us of any real chance of a comeback in the second. If not for a few too many dropped balls I still believe we win that game.

The raiders line speed in defence was just too fast, and I think that again refereeing played a fair part in that. On a positive note our on line defence was much improved, Canberra should have been up by a fair margin going in to halve time, things to work on, but not the end of the world for sure.

Whilst I somewhat agree that Gutho overuses the quick tap, I don't think it's that simple of an equation, the kick whilst it's certainly a meter eater, leaves the resulting tap against a set defensive line, then more often than not sees you spending the next few tackles trying to get the defence back peddling, where as a quick tap, well used that catches the defence off guard , with even a 15m run ( which means he's past the line of defence ) can start the set off with the defence on the back foot, again it relies on the quick PTB to back it up, so we have to be aware as a team that is the play.

I understand why people do it on occasions but Gutho doesn’t seem to know when to do it. When has Gutho ever done a quick tap that has got us a result? All he ends up doing is costing us field position.

I don’t mind it (as long as it’s not in our own 20m), it means we get a couple of tackles against unset defence but needs to be smarter. Last night we needed to settle not try trick shots

Agree that their line speed was Storm like. That little merkin from dummy half was Cam Smith untouchable but with twice his speed.

Our errors were caused by the fatigue from all the D and their line speed.

Both teams seemed to want to win the middle battle. We should have played with more width IMO.

We should have targeted Leilua in defence

I dunno, again I agree he seems to over use it, but the example last night saw a definite strip as far as I'm concerned, which should have been a penalty, for mine that means that the defence is willing to take that risk, over the risk of line that's not set in their own half. particularly given it's first tackle, and the punishment is really only a handful of meters. It was missed, so it didn't pay off, that doesn't make it a bad play, if anything the failure there on Gutho's behalf is to secure the ball, because the strip is on.

Agree, In your own half whilst struggling a little to get out, always take the meters on offer.

They bashed us and went full grub and got away with it.

Fair play to them. We didn’t seem to know how to respond. We really missed the hard edge Nrown and Mau give us.
