Newcastle have one of the easiest draws. But based in what seen they are up against it in most games.

Apart from round one against a very poor start from the Roosters, they whipped the Tigers and then 3 losses including only 1 try in last 2 games. They're in trouble.

Newcastle are a more mediocre club then what we are especially since Joey retired.

They are protected in the media by the influence of the Johns brothers who give big opinions that seem to hold a lot of weight in the media.

Even when they spent 4 years at the bottom they were felt sorry for more then most clubs who are down the bottom for an extended period.

Also they are the only club that Wayne Bennett achieved nothing with should tell you something.

I think they looked good against the Panthers but where down to 12 men.
The following 2 weeks they've been woeful. But they have played Roosters,Penrith,Manly,Sharks in first 5 games. Tough draw. I think they are about a 7th-12th spot

There's plenty of truth in a lot of that...

I would also say though that so far this year they have not come close to having their best side on the park due to a range of issues. Same with a few other side's obviously, but they are a team that will struggle if they have to play extended periods without their 1st choice 17

I think even full strength there best side isn't top 4. I would say around 6th to 8th mark where they finished past 2 years.

When you have Ponga not playing his best, the rest of the spine ain't great looking tbh. Would a bottom 6 spine be a fair assessment?

Knights play dragons, EELS , storm and cowboys next 4 weeks. You would think they win 2 of those, otherwise the year will only get uglier

Cowboys and Dragons being the away games probably doesn't help as there the easier games to grab wins.

Though Eels play knights on the Anzac Weekend which means that we will probably be wearing that crap jersey which may be a bad omen.

I think we have buried omens like that

Couldn't beat Canberra in Canberra. Did it with ease last year

Couldn't beat Melbourne outside of origin period - 3 in a row wins now

Our bad Omen is 2nd week finals

Souths have got our measure a bit last couple of years though, more so the ease of tries they score on our right edge

There is no white in the jersey so we will be sweet

You can add Manly to that last paragraph too I reckon...

Those 2 teams absolutely ripped us apart last year. The 2 best sides in the comp (Panthers and Storm) we competed strongly against, but Souffs and Manly, we were never in those games and we got pummeled....

Ponga and Newcastle are looking very much like our over reliance with Hayne when he was at his peak. If I was them I’d be f**king him off and putting some balance to their team. He will win nothing with Newcastle. At least Hayne got us to a GF.
A fair assessment.

Roosters have a decent record against us in recent years as well.

Agree. It’s actually a good game so far!
Last night and this game I thought were flip of a coin jobs.... The rest straightforward.

I've got no feel who's gunna win this. I started watching and cheering when Warriors scored to take the lead...then checked my tips and realised I tipped the Cows so I'm all in on JT and Co from now on!!!!

If Feldt touched it you can probably then put it down to Walsh's forearm to the head
