Sure, you go first. I'd love to see a source that he blamed Waqa Blake for our early season form. Maybe he blamed Sean Russell for being unavailable?
“Source” or “evidence”. As far as I know BA isn’t on this forum. But evidence suggests he has been a significant contributor to our losses. You have argued plenty of times that players on top 13 money don’t get “dropped”. I’m pretty sure Waqa is one of our top 13 or even 7 players.

The side looks a bit bored and lazy. We seem to often get nervous and stop playing footy with far to long to go. To many sets where it's nothing but 5 hit ups and kick. No real NUTS or sting in defense. I don't recall one big hit all game.

Tigers however had a dig. They deserved to win and if Staines doesn't drop that ball I reckon they do.

I reckon we stopped playing footy in the second half and focused on completions deliberately, the difference was just too stark, that was coaching.

We clearly went into the game prepared to spread and test their left edge, and it worked, except that we didn't dominate possession as we should have. We stopped the spread in the second half focused on holding the ball, they did the opposite.

We won, not well, but we won.

Greig mad a gigantic 44m as a starting prop. He needs to be boned. Hodgson again missed 5 tackles whilst Hands only missed 1.

Got the win and to be honest, that’s the main thing. Had a few strange calls go against us that if we get them, we go on to win by plenty. Might be time to start Hands and bring Hodgo off the bench. Looking forward to Barlow being back, we miss him so much.

Avenger he was on for a grand total of 19 minutes with most of that in defense. I was going to say that I thought he won the ruck more often than not and used his big frame well. Unless he was injured, I don’t understand why he wasn’t brought back on. I thought he was one of best in the first 15 or so

Not necessarily a question that should be addressed just here in this thread but what do folks reckon our record looks like so far if Mahoney was still our 9 instead of Hodgson? Better? Worse? The same?

I'm not overly convinced he makes us a LOT better. I'd say we're 1, maybe 2 wins better off if he was still in the side. Not because he's a difference maker, but just because of the continuity and flow we're missing without him...

Couple of mates of mine who are Dogs fans are head over heels in love with him. I still think there's limitations in his game, he's a bit of a hog that's for sure. I guess he's trying to step up and lead by example there.

Off-field leadership, management of staff and contribution to strategic decision-making, along with other execs/managers in the club. He also does the pressers, which makes idiots think he's responsible for every decision the club makes.
I'm pretty certain he also does coach stuff.

It’s a good question. I’m not sure we’re much better off with him this year so far, if he’s there over Hodgson. Maybe a bit better off with the team just humming as a carry on from last year, rather than needing to adjust.

Matterson was the bigger out - I think we win at least one, and possibly all, of the first three with him there.

So the same time our best middle RCG was on and second best middle defensive in Makatoa just came on?
What game were you watching? Hodgson came on with Matterson and Hopgood deep into their first stints, and RCG ten minutes into his second. Makatoa came on for Matterson after Naden's try, five minutes later. Matterson had played 66 minutes straight at that point. Murchie came on for Hopgood at the 72nd minute (during the Doueihi stoppage), after Hopgood had played a single 52 minute stint. Matterson came back on for Makatoa almost immediately after that when Tupou scored. At that point Klemmer and Utoikamanu had only been on for 12 minutes (after nearly an hour's rest) and were still carving up.

But really our problem was not controlling the ball. That makes fatigue much more of a problem, regardless of your rotations.

We win against Manly and Sharks. Hodgson was great in rnd 1.
We'd be 4/6. Mahoneys been Dogs best player so far.

On that though, that was clutch play by Gutho. He put that dropout exactly where it needed to be. If certain other players did it, people would be raving about the kick, not the drop

I liked this, then unliked it so I could like it again.

Almost feels like a loss. 40 missed tackles. Tigers missed 18 (NRL stats). Tigers were prepared to play some footy, and they troubled us.

I don’t know what we offered Reed and what he signed for, but we miss him badly.
40 missed tackles. Defence is attitude. Any other team would have flogged us today with that piss poor attitude. 40 missed tackles!
