Another issue we have (and have had for years) is that too often when we make a tackle our defenders end up on the back side of the person they have tackled, which allows the dummy half to have a field day. I reckon this has been an issue for almost a decade.
Can’t like this enough. Forget tackles made. Look at where merkins end up when we tackle. That’s why I like Moses. He can get bumped off but f**k me, he will work to bring the defender down and then put effort on effort to be an effective marker.

We place far too little importance on getting in good positions defensively in the ruck. It kills us

One of those attention to detail areas that has needed addressing for the entire time the coach has been here, but won't be.

I noticed it when Tepai Moroea first debuted. Everyone loved him but his defence always gave away quick play the balls. He was terrible at it. I reckon it’s got worse as a club ever since.

The attention to detail at this club has been appalling for a decade, it was an absolute miracle we made a GF last year. I said at the time the ride was fun but it is going to set the club back in the long run. 2 more years of Bea i don't think i can take it. The team looks stale and totally unmotivated.

Tigers also had nothing to lose and something to prove.

We had far more pressure today. It was our season done if lost I think. And imagine that happening to the side coming last. All the media etc. I'm happy we got the two points. I think we have a lot of work to do. We've been crap since we beat Penrith.

How do you know he wasn’t blamed.
Because Arthur doesn't blame individuals. He makes a point of it, and said so in tonight's presser.
At least a decent contribution was attributed to it, otherwise you wouldn’t drop him.
We had Russell ready to come in, and Arthur thought he was likely to do at least as good a job. Even if he was expected to be no better than Blake, Russell is contracted for next year, so we would benefit from giving him the run.

It was a shit game and a shit performance but I really think Easter weekend is always full of these types of performances. Its a long weekend. Nobody wants to be playing footy. Why we see so many scrappy games and blow outs every Easter weekend. It's easy to say they are professionals and all that but they are also human. It would be hard for everyone this whole weekend bar perhaps Thursday night being really up for it.

Our issues are simple. Hodgson may come good buts looking less likely each week. Moves slow. A quality prop off the bench who bends the line and a better Wing or Centre option. Haze had an absolute stinker. I'd say he cost us 12 points and at times where we may of broke them. If we scored first at 22-6 we probably go on and win by 40. We just kept letting them off the hook.
The side looks a bit bored and lazy. We seem to often get nervous and stop playing footy with far to long to go. To many sets where it's nothing but 5 hit ups and kick. No real NUTS or sting in defense. I don't recall one big hit all game.

Tigers however had a dig. They deserved to win and if Staines doesn't drop that ball I reckon they do.
The thing is, we don't know if it is BAs instruction to just 1 out and kick to the corner or if the players are doing it themselves?

The fact that lane, matto, carty had no offloads and hoppas 1 signifies to me its bas plan.

All those scrum plays where we were like the Panthers in an I formation has gone.

Or team just doesn't seem too interested in the one or stuff. They seemed to get bored and clock off

BAs role is to identify the attention to detail and let them know about it. Then his job is done

The amount of times you’ve argued not to listen to what coaches say in the media, and now suddenly it’s gospel. I like what you bring to this forum Pou, but you are not presenting a particularly robust argument tonight. Go to bed, regroup and get stuck in tomorrow. I’ve got the day off so let’s have it.

What is BAs job, rotations and being a good mother to the players so they have a balanced life.

I mean, team list, cut and paste, team motivation, nope,. Game plan, 1 out and kick to the right and front loading effort.
Off-field leadership, management of staff and contribution to strategic decision-making, along with other execs/managers in the club. He also does the pressers, which makes idiots think he's responsible for every decision the club makes.
