We’re pretty banged up atm so I’ll cut the coach some slack there but it’s really deflating to see how much we seem to struggle to create space for our outside backs. I thought last week against the Knights was a mirage because we overpowered them and score off a lot of crash plays but that isn’t going to cut it against the top sides. It’s been an issue for years now and the coaching staff deserves criticism for that. Our forward pack is so good that the issue gets masked over because we can just power over lesser teams but when we can’t do that then we get exposed big time.

The eyes up ad lib footy is all good until it isn't. There are times when a structure or set play needs to be run. Just look at the Melbourne or Tigers games. Those sets leading to field goal situations just show how little work this team does training situational football.

I just cant see parra beating the best teams in the big dance with such little attention to detail on parts of the game like offence.

After the game, I asked one of our legends what he thought the problem was and his answer was "we have a half back who doesn't run enough". He wasnt talking about JA.

Yes 6 tries were scored down our left hand side but the problem is our halfback over on the right that doesn’t run enough (who by the way actually ran more times than our half on the left).

Dunster and Sivo and Niukore all unavailable. The one game Niukore was available Arthur wasn't in the 17. He also didn't come on in round one until Russell was injured.

Who is our attacking coach ? We still run one out since 2015 or pass once after a one out run. We have no set Plays what so ever, our forward pack is good but not good enough to win just from one out runs, I feel like we need to stagger interchanges of rcg and junior because when they both come off we lose a lot.

When does Waqa come back we certainly miss his kick returns and fast play the balls.

Was a bit like the game. Spend a bunch of time working in the opposition’s end, but with no penetration. Any promising movement just ended with the ball slipping through hands. Then the opposition had no problem evading my tackle.

I really feel sorry for Jake Arthur it’s not his fault that he gets picked. I’ve said this before that BA is ruining his development by selecting him in first grade. His skill level, physical side - you can tell he’s not ready. Mentally though, this is where the damage can be done when the fans turn on him because he gets treated favourably. If Jake was there on his own merits due to an injury to the halves then put him in that’s totally fine. But to take out one of the form 5/8 and put your son in is a joke! It’s just poor coaching.

Jake Arthur would not make any other first grade team in the NRL. Not even the Dogs who are coming last.

Well as you've seen I hit you merkins with some truth bombs and even a few other posters have admitted we had bigger problems tonight than Jake Arthur.

…and we’ve hit you with the Hiroshima of truth bombs that the halfback we’ve used and forced our form 5/8 into the centres for 5 halves of footy has achieved exactly 0 try assists, 0 tries, 0 line breaks and 0 LBAs in 200 minutes of football. He also has 8 missed tackles in 2 1/2 games, which isn’t great either. No obfuscating on your part will change that.

I also forgot to add 0 tackle busts and he has only run 15 times for 79m.

Nope, Townsville is well into the tropics.

Tropical conditions you can't get use to in a few days, it takes months. It is a completely different playing environment.

Townsville is tropical, but Darwin is next level, and it's easier for a team from the tropics to make that transition.

You just can't underestimate how much easier it is for the Cowboys to play in Darwin than us. It's an unfair advantage in many respects.

It's DOGSHIT DUMB to play home games in the tropics against the only team in the comp from the tropics.

Yep. I only watched for about 10 mins until they scored their 3rd try. It was obvious that we were well and truly f**ked, some merkins looked like they were about to f**king faint. Turned it off again, it was obvious we weren’t going to win.

We definitely paid too much too long for Gutherson for that extension.
We had him until the end of this season and should have offered him a 1 season extension on a slightly increased amount and if he signed elsewhere then move on.
He is a bog average fullback now.

Well you typed that this legend said our problem is we have a halfback that doesn’t run the ball. This legend is talking out of his ass. Moses has averaged 8.25 runs per game this season. Whilst I would like him to run more, he certainly does run. He also has the most try assists in the comp by far and was sitting 2nd on the Dally M ladder. He is the least of our problems.

As a neutral who came here looking for rhyno, I'm disappointed he has gone into hiding. Great read, nonetheless.
You merkins should listen to Jake the snake, or either of the big 2 Hindy's.
They have some reality in their thinking.

Gutherson has been garbage this year and him dropping that bomb started the calamity.

BA will not survive until the end of Gutherson’s tenure and I’m tipping Gutherson will be released before the end of his contract.

We have only one genuine X factor in our side and super coach moves him to the centres to put in a kid who should still be playing flegg.

It’s not fair on him and his age is the only thing that is stopping him being inaugurated into the shit list.

why haven’t we promoted a winger or centre to our top 30 since our injury crisis. Because if we do, it’ll mean JA spends time in reserves.

it’s seriously time for someone above BA to question his team selections and bench usage. We’ve had a ‘reputable’ poster here claim none of us are near as smart as first grade coaches. I’ll make an exception on his comments because Ba is as dumb as a door nail.

We went away from the game plan at the start. The adjustment was to try and go back to it but by then we were gassed. You talk about all the ball we had. By the end possession was even. But the possession we had we wasted by trying to go around them. It didn't wear them out at all.

What is ridiculous is we take a game to Darwin against the Cowboys who are suited to humid conditions......Take the Warriors or Raiders there.

And one year we even took our blockbuster game of the year against the PANTHERS there.
