What the f!@# does she know about French RL and it's history ?

That serial drink-driver of women (read Danny Wiedler in the Sun Herald) is the poorest excuse for a journo in the world. Anyone who has seen her on the fat would know where her morals were.

I was seething when I read that bag on French rugby league, particularly when she followed it with something like "The French rugby union has no such financial worries".

What a cop out? She slags league by saying something we've known about for bloody months (French gov threatening funding of the code if the Test team was flogged by the Aussies), then uses it to glorify her game of the moment.

Just to think, she was working as Super League's main PR person only six years ago. She has obviously not retained her passion for the game that paid her a motza for spinning shite once. No wonder Super League had connotations with mud.

Pathetic.

She is pathetic. And to me the worst thing is that she was (as was pointed out) Super Leagues PR person. It always concerned me how she calls herself the worlds biggest swans fan and things like that.. what sort of RL PR person is she??

The paper is the Sunday Telegraph in Sydney (web site doesn't appear to have here column).

She has the first page in the sports section that includes little stories of funny things and gossip. Danny Weidler has the equivalent in teh Sun Herald. They love proving the other one wrong and Weidler this week led with a story about Wilson's poor driving record.

From memory this story was something like:

"The French Rugby League are in big financial trouble with the government threatening to withdraw fnding for the sport if they suffer a big loss to the Kangaroos so they played a select 13 rather than the full test team. The selct team had about 7 players that would have been in the test side"

That was about it and it was news about 3 months ago. It was then followed by some story about how the French rugby union had no financial troubles (that was the first line) - I can't even rember what that story was about.

Another "scoop" of hers was that 3 Roosters players were at goodbar in Paddington - WOW!

French RU are not all that flush either. I was reading where their main divisions have had to contract from 36 to 32 clubs just recently. This figure is expected to be cut even further-heard only about 16 clubs will survive in the professional era.


French RU receives a lot of handouts from the government also. I will try & get the article.

I hate the idiot, but to be fair to her, she no longer works for rugby league, has no obligation to the game anymore, and is entitled to express her own feelings and opinions as she sees fit.

What a peculiar comment to make, suggesting that all woman are unfit to comment on sport, you can't be serious surely! I'm sure Anne Sargeant is packing her microphone away as we speak and never returning to the netball stadium. Look at competent female RL writers from the recent past, both Deb Spillane and Lisa Olsen performed, at least to regular standards.

Rebecca Wilson is an idiot, pure and simple. She makes her money from other people's misery, reporting half thruths and blatantly offensive material. I'm content with the fact that she puts more and more people offside every sunday and in doing so is going to make her future in the business all the more harder.
