Recommendation for fellow Panther Fans

Every finals match that the club has ever won is on here, with one exception. The 1990 Major Semi vs Canberra, won by us in extra time. Doesn't bother me because I've got this one on VHS but it was a crackerjack match, not sure why it was omitted. Personally, I'd have included the Grand Final from the same year, but understandable they left that off. The side certainly wasn't disgraced that day.

Seriously we should get another list of great old games for the diehard fans, and make some enquiries and see if they can be tracked down. If they think there is enough of a market they might release them onto DVD. Most of the traditional TV stations are losing revenue big time these days with the rise of the Internet - if they released a bunch of old sets for all the different clubs across the league there could be some money in it for them,

I spoke with club officials in regards to getting old games on a dvd format .The club said they looked into it but it was a minefield of ownership issues from tv to various footy bodies .Was not worth the amount of sales they thught they would get

Someone on YouTube has been uploading a whole heap of Winfield Week in Rugby League videos, which may have been telecast on Channel 10 back in the day(?) - in summary, there were full replays of the ABC Saturday match, the Channel 10 "Big Game" on Sunday nights, and also the mid week Panasonic Cup, as well as Channel 10 news reports on the other matches. Very comprehensive.

Anyway, if you trawl through the videos, there are full matches involving Penrith:

I’ve been trying to find the Penrith vs St George game for ‘86 as I’m good friends with Paul Osborne and this was the game where he made his first grade debut for the Dragons.

On a lighter note, that State of Origin game in Los Angeles featured Royce Simmons.

At around the 2:28 mark, he even gets into a bit of a punch up!
