There I was minding my own business last night when a f**king Mountain Lion or Cougar or whatever it was comes out of no where and kills my horse and I barely escape with my life!

This game is awesome!!

Wait 'til the last section of the game where its not mountain lions, but bears that sneak up on you.

f**king loved that! After I complete the main story I liked to stay up in the mountains and get some big horns and wolves and coyotes and all of a sudden a f**king bear ambushes me! I manage to escape cos I just unload on them with dead eye but f**k it's a pain in the arse.

After I finish the game I love going to that section outside blackwater where there's a shitload of buffalo. Problem is the mountain lions ambushe me as well and more often than not they KILL me!

Free multiplayer DLC is announced for a September release

Free Red Dead Redemption DLC Coming In September

As a thank you to fans for playing Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer modes, Rockstar Games is offering a free DLC pack in September.
The Myths and Mavericks Bonus Pack features new multiplayer characters and locations in which to play the title's various multiplayer modes.
Rockstar also says that it's preparing a patch (for release before the free DLC) that will bring back the original Undead Overrun multiplayer mode settings.
No exact date for Myths and Mavericks has been announced.

Only bought this a 2 weeks ago, just started playing it over the weekend.

WOW!! Awesome, I love it, such a great feel, you can just gallop around and do whatever you like.

I shot a couple of boars last night after laying some bait, I wanna find some mountain lions or bears, where do I go to find them?

Bears are up in the mountains in Blackwater but you can't get there for a while.

Ah fair enough, I'm still only at the beginning, in Armadillo and McFarlane's ranch.

Been shooting plenty of coyotes and deer

Only thing I've found annoying is the herb collecting, I mean seems pretty redundant.

Also, what's the point of buying those town maps? Do they have secrets or something?

Town maps just mean you don't have to go exploring to find places they'll appear automaticaly on your map, pretty handy if you miss little places. There's an achievement/trophy for it so if you care about that stuff I'd buy the map but if not no big deal really.

Herb collecting just buy the other map that keeps the locations on your mini map up for a while.

Also, when you skin animals and find herbs don't sell them at the nearest store. It'll work better when you have everything accessible but ie. skin a bear in the mountains, sell it Mexico. You get much more money because they're rare items. I think a grizzy heart can go for $60 in Mexico.

haha how hectic are some of the hunter challenges, trying to kill and skin both a cougar and a bear with just your melee knife, crazy shit.

easily one of the best games made, have now finished it 3 times and still can't quite get 100% completiton. missing something and i'll be stuffed if i know what it is.

Any talk of follow up or another red dead game?

im goign to go against the trend.... i got it with my ps3... and it was good for a while.... but now i just find myself riding around on my horse and cant be bothered doing the missions... to be honest... its boring.

Just finished the game the other day.

Man the ending was unreal, so satisfying, great to see a game not simply follow the cliche ending but to add a little twist and set things up nicely for a sequel.

Easily in my top 5 for best game I've ever played, couldn't put it down from start to finsih, can't wait for the sequel

It's annoying as f**k playing as Jack after playing a game with one of the best characters ever in a video game. "Work ya damn nag!"

Also, word of advice to anybody playing the game. This is not a spoiler so don't worry but when you are able to get to Blackwater make SURE you find the stranger mission "I know you" and complete all of them, three IIRC, because it won't be available after the game is completed and I think it becomes available when you access Blackwater. That was my favourite part of the game.

I think you find him on a cliff south of the McFarlane ranch.

Yeah I did that side mission with Jack too, that definitely was the icing on the cake. The ending for John though was unreal, so good.

Trying to decide whether I should bother finishing it 100% and getting all the outfits, not sure if I could be bothered really, I think I'm happy having complete all missions and challenges.

It sure is fun walking around Tall Trees at night though, so many dangerous animals lurking around, good fun.

So what ideas should be in number 2 (assuming they do one)?

Not sure if much should change, would be sick if they made part 2 a prequel where you get to play as John Marston when he was part of Dutch's gang!!

Riding into mexico and Jose Gonzales starts playing, memorable gaming moment right there. This game just gets better and better.

Just started Undead Nightmare. Interesting concept but a bit tedious due to the fact ammo is scarce!

Apologies, I am very very late to the party.... but how awesome is this game!!!

Finished it last night, can't wait for the sequel.

Easily the best game of it's kind. I hear GTAV is going to be like it but even bigger, if so it's goodbye real world!
