Redcliffe will either have to spend way too much on Ponga, or somehow convince him he's a better chance of winning a premiership there. Not that I think he's a dumb target for them, but we already discuss whether we're paying him too much as it is in Newcastle. He likes living in Newcastle, we've made him quite comfortable, I think they'd need to go well above what we're paying him to get him to make the move.

I don't think he'll leave the Knights just yet, to be honest... but it's within the realm of possibility.

Why not? Adds to the player pool rather than draining it, brings new blood into nrl, doesn’t weaken existing clubs, doesn’t drive up salary inflation. Or are you still one of those deluded types who thinks the nrl is all equal under the salary cap?

I’d give them an extra $1.5mill a year on salary cap for players signed from outside current nrl squads Or second tier squads. Be good to raid union for a change.

Because they will have enough advantages from TPA sponsorships - you know, the things that makes the salary cap unfair. Give that advantage to all teams or none.
