The NRL's newest team has secured its first marquee signing.

Melbourne Storm premiership winner Felise Kaufusi will join the Dolphins in 2023 on a three year deal.

The 29-year-old Queenslander has played 152 games for the Storm since making his debut in 2015, but will swap purple for red and white when his contract in Melbourne finishes up at the end of next year.

I hope The Dolphins raid the Knights for pinching Kalyn Ponga, Enari Tuala and Jake Clifford from the Cowboys. If they can get Ponga and Clifford then they will have two of their spine positions sorted. If they do go to The Dolphins then I would like to see how it's reported on the Matty Johns Show.😎

Olde clint seems to have lost a lot of his bling. The days of the jig at Suncorp after trouncing the donks are long gone.

I suppose Plan B is to see if we can have another season off to try to sign someone.

We don't want to resort to having to play Tyrone May in Women in League Round.

I'd be nervous if I were a Newcastle fan, they need a big name signing. Sorry but Felise "The Thug" Kaufusi isn't really the kind of signing that is going to open the floodgates

I can see them throwing the biggest deal in the NRL at Ponga

I hope they do. It'll teach Newcastle a lesson for raiding the Cowboys instead of developing their own players.

Bit of a beat up but I was interested to read the 1000 men quote.

In the meantime, the side that came last, the most hopeless team I guess ( that slaughtered us lol) is in the ICU for Marquee Overdose!

Catastrophic failure so far. Kafusi and 29 muppeteers some the women’s side would run over. Don’t get me wrong, I love the girls game but prefer the rugby version.

Smith signing with The Turkeys sums up everything that's wrong with the game. I know he's free to sign with whoever he wants and has valid reasons to choose a premiership contender over struggling sides, but it's not good for the viewers as it gets boring seeing the same clubs at the top.

Looks like Ponga is last marquee standing for 2023! What will it mean for them if they cant sign a couple of big name stars I wonder? Maybe they will hit up SL for Williams, Bateman etc?

The drama of it has been awesome. His grand tour and mostly incoherent findings. Allegedly not giving the storm the final say as he promised. They would hate that after their forgiveness of his recent nonsense.

High treason, but I agree with your obs. Same old top 4, another year of blah is upon us.

In the almighty struggle for the spoon, us filth at the bottom, cheer at jagging the odd win and pray for an affray or brawl to punctuate the endless shame and injury to our footy feelings.

Enter Redcliffe to join the pathetic throng of the faithful over fact.

Welcome to our nightmare!

Lesson one for pre season: repeat:

“ We are f**ked next season and will be lucky to win a game”

It’s all about the preparation….

The NRL needs to acknowledge that some clubs have an advantage in the player market due to their location and ownership model. Teams like The Turkeys, The Elmer Fudds, The Donkeys and The Drizzle can poach marquee players without overspending. Smith has reportedly signed with The Turkeys for a lower amount than was offered by The Dolphins. The only way this crap can be corrected is if the rich clubs are forced to pay a tax for every junior they poach from other clubs, with the money going towards the clubs that produced these players and added to their salary cap to help them recruit players from the big guns. If we let things stay as they are then The Turkeys will just buy up the best talent from other clubs because everyone wants to live in or near the Sydney CBD.
