No its not, but it didnt need to be and for sake of some sht clubs moaning they could have started with a bang and hit the ground running instead of having to take a few years to build into a decent side. Being a bottom half of the table club for first 2-3 years isnt a great outcome for expansion.
yep, agree. unfortunately, public perception via the media will have a -ve impact on them coming in. Im hoping Bennett can use his UK coaching connections to land a few players...maybe Gildart is a start?

Tell us donkey, who are these “shit clubs” you speak of?

I also note your annoyance about NRL and “Pokies” in your previous post.

The ones who've had years to get their sht together but still bounce along at the bottom of the table and would whinge like hell if Dolphins had been given cap concessions to build a winning team!
I only have one profile old mate.

Not quite, there's been a bit of movement and late signings and missed opportunity. Add Brandon Smith & Reece Walsh into the squad and its starting to look a lot more exciting. The fact they haven't been able to land one big name back is the real issue for them.
So its not a time thing then because they have had a crack at quite a few good players and missed

Maybe O'Sullivans stink from Melb is still around and old Clint has lost his powers of bullshit over young fellas

Partly it is, they only got shot at one lot of off contract players. If they had 2 year lead in they'd have got a shot at 2 years worth of off contract players, not to mention stacking the Redcliffe team with best jnr talent/reserves they could find that might be ready for 2 years time.
When the Reds were brought in we had a 3 year lead in and brought across dozens of young players and signed a number of players who played year before ARL entry in a reserve grade side.
GC were announced in May 2005 and entered 2007 giving them 2 years effectively to sign up players.
Dolphins literally only had one month from being announced to the Nov 1st negotiation commencement date to be organised on who they wanted to discuss contracts with. Nuts!

How are the dolphins going in QLD cup this year? Are any of their current side going to be upgraded to the nrl squad or will they be let go? Surely some guys would have gone there this year for the exposure

The Capras are flying and they have a couple. Nixon Putt & Tyler Szepanowski go pretty well and may be a show at getting a contract.

Why do people keep saying that the Dolphins needed more time to build a roster?
3 reasons why that argument is flawed.
1. Who the hell will sign a contract 2 years out ? They risk not being picked in first grade because they are leaving anyway. And players want to improve , so they hold off until their form is peaking.

2. You don't want to sign players 2 years out. You simply can't know what you're getting, they could have a bad injury in that time, serve a drug ban, get in the papers for the wrong reason, simply decline in ability or back out of the contract.

3: there's still 8 months left to build a roster ! 8 months! Plenty of time left and it's looking pretty good. They probably have guys lined up that are holding off for reason stated above.

So NO the Dolphins didn't need nor want more time.

Yep, I agree. They so far have 20. There are currently about 90 players unsigned for next year throughout all the clubs. Storm only currently have 20 signed for next year, Bronks 22, NQ 23, to name a few. I also agree that some signing haven't been announced.

Disagree on most of your points but the proof fo the pudding and all that. Let’s see where dolphins are sitting this time next year and we will see if it’s a storm in kent teacup or if vlandys has butchered the 17th clubs admission.

Instead of waiting another year...
They will be playing, building systems , combinations a fan base with exposure.
They are on their journey sooner, they'll be an established franchise sooner.

Your just butt hurt because Perth didn't get a side. Get over it. Perth sucks.

I think you can criticise the process - it was rushed.

For example the decision should have been made earlier in 2021 and if circumstances (COVID) prevented them from doing so then you delay it until late 21 or early 22 for a 2024 entry.

The argument against signing players up to two years is also fairly irrelevant - how many teams are signing blokes more than 12 months in advance anyway.

During Saturday's loss to the Sea Eagles, Newcastle coach Adam O'Brien said Edrick Lee suffered a foot injury which the winger fears is a recurrence of that which saw him miss the 2021 season.

I doubt Tom Gilbert, a current Origin player, is starting on the bench behind Ray Stone
There's a few unknowns, like the union convert who seems to be doing well in QRL cup. I'm sure there will be some shuffling depending on injuries and form through the season. That's a starting 17, how they line up is yet to be seen plus there's still 9 places left so we may yet see some new signings that will make the first 17.
