Be careful what you wish for, with injuries to Hiku, Pompey, Fus, and Aitken there’s not much stock left in the cupboard.

I’d guess they either go with Perham at centre or Montoya to centre and Walsh to the wing this week, although making your debut against the Storm is hardly the start you’d want to your NRL career
With the way Brown has been picking, it will be Rocco Berry and probably a 2nd rower playing center before Perham gets a run

Walsh is a ball playing fullback, that ideal skills mix that the Warriors need.

The difference between Walsh and a local jnr is that ball playing fullbacks do not exists in NZ.

We do not have the systems to school the ball playing part beyond
the basic fundamental halves we make here, who cannot place a tactical kick to save themselves.

Walsh is meant to be reasonably quick with footwork....but that is not the reason to sign him, we have that in our Juniors already.

He is being signed as a graduate of the Keebra Park school of league...it's what is between his ears that we are paying for.

His Mother is Maori, Father Indigenous Aussie. Mother wants him to play for the Kiwis. Old man wants him to rep Aussie.

Hopefully he's a mummy's boy then.

Weird that it's taken until now for this to come out - I thought it would have been at the forefront of the Warriors press releases.

He's probably still going to play for Oz, but at least he has some connection to NZ.

He came out yesterday and said he doesn’t have any feelings towards the kiwis and won’t be playing for them

Depending how well he goes he might end up singing a different tune later on I guess.

The Aussie fullback jersey is going to be well covered for a long time with Teddy and then Pap lurking in the wings and at state level Ponga is there and Brimson.

Obviously he's only 18 so plenty of time ahead of him, but those guys have plenty left in the tank too so maybe we get to a point where it's like hey if you want to play test footy, put a black jumper on. Especially if he starts to feel a bit more attachment to his Maori roots being in NZ.

A man can hope.

tbh I just wish the blokes who were born and raised in NZ wanted to play for NZ, rather than trying to get born and raised Aussies. Everything's gone arse backwards with people falling over themselves to congratulate the never-been-to-Tonga Tongans for turning their backs on NZ

Anyway, that ship has sailed but I still feel the need to rant occasionally, even at the risk of being called racist somehow

RTS had a shocker, but I think allowing Walsh to play fullback (and almost play 6 on attack too) may have a bit of a masterstroke in a way

Hard to know what to do next week. We want RTS in the side and that can't be on the wing. I think he has to go to the back. Maybe Walsh to the wing? Or off the bench? Probably 6. He's already playing there anyway

How about Walsh to 6 and SOS at 7, Kodi on to the bench.

Egan starts to tire and his passes are terrible, especially in the 20 which screws us big time. Would negate that and it means we have Walsh and RTS touching the ball as much as they can

Walsh at 6 would be a bit makeshift but then O’Sullivan/Nikorima is makeshift anyway. RTS/Nikorima/Walsh combining as playmakers gives us massive ball running threat even if there’s a lack of proper halves. Add in Walsh’s kicking and it’s just about serviceable.

Or go RTS/Walsh/SOS, if you think SOS is a bit more of a proper halfback, and Kodi can play 14.
