Another absolutely farcical performance by Ben Cummins. If he is refereeing first grade next week I think Ill give the game away.

Its happening to often with next to nil accountability on the refs, we shouldnt be forced to watch these inept imbeciles ruin our game week in week out.

Can't agree more.

1. Lewis penalised for taking out kicker - woeful decision
2. Gordon penalised for simply contesting bomb (which he nearly caught) - more woeful
3. Canberra's tactics of slowing the Panthers play the ball (Raiders players just refused to let Penrith to their feet) - no action from Ref - woeful.

All but one Raiders try from unwarrented piggy back get squares.

Raiders should have lost penalty count 20-0.

Why can't Ref's just ref the rules, not try and make a contest of the game. They treat us supporters like idiots. I am at my wits end.

The Gordon one is the one that pissed me off the most. How did they possibly come up with that decision?

Skeepe is right, Finch has got to go, at the moments the refs are not being held accountable for there continuing rubbish displays.

If the ball went backwards off Vidot in the Gordon incident Josh Dugan had ball in hand with a fair bit of open field. Something to consider on that one.

The penalty against Monas was just as annoying because everyone else was mouthing off just as bad. The panthers scored directly from that as well.

Been saying it for ages, no accountability what so ever. Every year under Finch the refs have got worse and worse
He needs to sacked

Cummins absolutely slayed the Raiders in the first half and then slayed Penrith in the 2nd. It was hardly one way traffic. Unacceptable performance from him. Wore one shirt in the first half and the other in the 2nd.

Really sh*tting me the influence they are having in so many games.

Then you get f**kwits like harrigan come out today and say no way should Farah have gotten a penalty for catching the mark offside on fulltime sat nite, that was as clear a penalty as youd see.

You'd have to be a mug to actually have your hard earned riding on games with these blind fools running the show

Nightingale was penalised for the same thing in yesterdays game, contested the ball and the roosters player landed badly... penalty. Terrible refereeing.

Then its the Tigers v Souths game and see how Wests were rorted, then go back a week and look how the Sharks were dudded by the most ridiculous decision you will ever see...

It never ends

The no penalty in the Tigers game was absolutely disgraceful. It is mind blowing that they will just pull out some random penalty and cost a side points and potentially ruin a game but when a side infringes and gives away an obvious penalty they wont blow a penalty because it will cost the side the game

it makes no sense to me.

Ive been saying it all year. These pricks are going to cost a side big time in the finals... might not be the BIG one but somewhere someone in the finals is going to get screwed like 9 fingered whore by these inept pricks and Harrigan and Finch will find somehow to justify it.
The no penalty on Farah, not once but twice at the death cost the tigers 2 points... either side losing tonight closely could have made a case for refereeing blunders costing them... Finch needs to be sacked.

i'm still fascinated about maloney being pinged for offside chasing a kick for the warriors when he was the kicker.

the more stunning part of that call is that there didn't even seem to be anyone offside.

Yeah that was another terrible decision.

In the Raiders/Panthers GDT after that soft high tackle penalty was given I said that the refs missed a highshot on Dugan earlier. Those types of things are a part of professional sport and will always be. Sometimes the refs will miss one, sometimes they will get one right. I never get too angry about that kind of thing.

It is the random, ludicrous decisions such as penalising Monas for a spray (when many a spray was given), penalising players contesting a bomb and attacking the ball, penalising a player as offside off their own kicks which is just mind blowing.

Nothing can beat decisions like in the Tigers game where the ref doesn't blow an obvious penalty because the game is on the line. The refs shouldnt even consider the games situation when they make a decision. All penalties in theory could cost a side a game.

I am still wondering how Kevin Locke's first try against the Roosters was awarded and what play the ball infringement Cummins saw when nobody was involved :S

The usual crap from Finch will result "we've reviewed the footage in super dooper slow motion" or Stu Raper's "they didn't get it right but doesn't mean they were wrong" or Bill Harrigan's "you don't always have to go by the letter of the law"

The problem with refs is that they aren't prepared to reverse their decisions. What's wrong with getting a call from the video ref or a touchie when they make a blew, and stop play and change the decision?

Well if you take the Gordon penalty.

If Vidot had knocked the ball back, Dugan was about to perhaps go for a run in broken play. How would that be then fair for the Raiders who broke no rules and potentially had their most dangerous player about to make a break by blowing the penalty, then having it overruled by the video ref. If the ball went forward that is moot.

The only way you could police that is wait til play breaks down. So after Dugan was tackled go back to the original penalty and have a look. This would slow things down a fair bit. I think just having accountability starting at the top would be the way to go.
