Going to Pizza Hut for dinner was awesome. Do you (or anyone) know if there's still any dine-in Pizza Hut Restaurants?

The last one I knew was at Balgownie (north of Wollongong). When I went to the Uni of Wollongong, they had all you can eat lunches from the "pizza buffet".

Yep, Windsor, Orange and Lakehaven near Wyong. Interesting they have introduced a new concept store at Waterloo, not quite the same as the old all you can eat but not like the drab takeaway venues they now have either. Used to love the salad bar when they introduced the all you can eat pizza huts. Do you remember when KFC briefly introduced the all you can eat concept? I tried it at Carlingford and Bondi Junction, fun while it lasted but it was short lived.

When Pizza Hut first opened and long before their all you can eat buffet existed, their pepperoni pizza were the bomb :grinning:

Yes it did, Big Rooster was Big in Qld and had a presence in NSW while I think Red Rooster was owned by Coles or similar. Red Rooster took over around the late 80's from memory.

Yum I just got hungry watching that ad, I do remember Big Rooster very briefly. Another one I remember but wasn't around for long was Sydney Fried Chicken, there was an outlet at Newtown and also Rockdale.

I remember that at Carlingford. The KFC buffet. Also the pizza hut pre-buffet all you could eat where the staff would bring out trays and you'd just take what you want and ask them to come by when the next supreme came out. Was a bit of a lottery depending on where you were seated and staff preference.

Yep that was the Earlwood outlet. Its funny I remember Mr Chips so clearly from my childhood but I have looked long and hard on the web to find out anything about it now and I came up with a blank apart from finding that one pic. There were outlets at Kingsford, Maroubra Junction , Coogee and the Earlwood one, probably more but I remember those ones, not sure exactly when they disappeared but the Maroubra and Kingsford ones were gone sometime in the 80s, I think the Earlwood and Coogee were still around in the early to even mid 90s.
The Earlwood one was still around in 2002. I'm pretty sure it might have even been there in 2003. It's Oportos now.

Going to the shops, buying a video game, putting it in my console and being able to play it straight away.

That’s sounds right, a quick jog of my memory and I moved into my current residence in the inner west in 1997 and I used to drive past the Earlwood Mr Chips many times after I had moved there so 2002 would be right, the Coogee one was still opened also when I moved in here.
