I really don't think too many people would take advantage of that unless there was an upfront financial incentive for them. I'd rather offer my season ticket to a friend or even someone on here to borrow as opposed to ringing up with a week to go and let them re-sell my ticket. There's always someone looking for last minute tickets in big games which is really what the club would be looking at.

It's a bit of a catch 22 which is hard to solve because clubs are trying hard to sell ticketed memberships and getting them way up... but then if lots of ticketed members don't turn up for certain games for whatever reasons then crowds are down and that looks bad.

so we are now trying to earn less money for the club, what a great forward thinking board we have.

You sell a ST to a member who then can not make, so the club buys this ticket back off them reducing the income from that season ticket.
A casual supporter decides he wants to attend, so buys the vacant STH seat which had previously been sold but returned.
We have now sold the same seat twice for the income of one seat when the casual supporter would have purchased an additional seat anyway and the season ticket holder also would have retained their ST because they like their seat and only miss a few games a year. We are now selling 2 seats for 2 incomes.

We can also look at the season ticket holder having a spare seat and giving it to a friend or family member who wouldn't normally have gone but as the STH wasn't using their seat decided to take him up on his generosity and loved it so much is looking to become a STH next year.

How about if a STH knows that they wont be able to use a seat a week in advance they register that via the Eels Home page by logging on with their membership information and putting down what seat would not be used. That then goes on sale via Ticketek.

It is really that hard ?

Some members might not use the internet so they would be able to call a Phone Number to get that processed (it might well be done via the Ticketek Call Centre).

How many sth could be bothered doing that?

if you could do that , you could just ring and pretend your the person who you sit next to at the games and you dont like (eg suitman), quote their seat number etc and get the club to cancel their ticket for the night , shazzam

Or you could just buy GA and not sit next to the person you don't like (eg. PJ Marshal) and sit next to someone you really like (eg. Belly).

I like to live on the edge and sit front row in the south terrace and give it to opposing teams during their warm up.

For the people who have said they are NOT going to renew are a joke.

Follow your team/club and get over the politics.

Regardless if we come last, I'll be a season ticketed member until I cant get off the couch no more when i get to my 90's.

we will need an additional 6000 non ticketed members to make up for the $300,000 extra payout because of the "professional" decision made by this board. Or will they just selloff another asset?

I agree, everyone should renew, if not then one day you might not have a club or its board to complain about.

This is football, this is the drama that comes with being a fan. Enjoy it, we will have good times again if enough people want it. Its these bad times that make that premiership so much sweeter. Just imagine the day that Souths or the Bears win their next Premiership, their fans will flip. From being kicked out of the comp to premiers. Those that know, truly know where the club has come from to rise to such heights will feel more joy then anyone who doesn't endure the hard times. Can you endure it?

Everyone should stay on board and encourage others to do the same. Its fun.

Follow yes, invest into greedy bastards pockets no. Why should anyone join the leagues club just to have a say in the NRL side of things. Doesn't make sense. You do what you want Jodeci, but everyone has the right to make their own decision and if they choose not to renew it doesn't make it a "joke" as you put it, merely a personal decision based on one's own opinion.

Surprised you're taking that attitude actually, you're such a well informed and respected poster on this forum but an attitude expressing clap trap like that makes me think otherwise.

I still have my cap, bumper sticker, temp tattoos from last years membership I can sell back to the club if they want to save costs for next yrs packages.

By 2020, Parramatta Eels will cease to exist as a leagues club and instead reform under Ozzie as a bank.
