Or it could end a player's career, like the way Ben Smith rubbed out Taneila Tuiaki. Smith wasn't sanctioned and then he did the same thing to Nathan Fien in the first game of the 2010 season, breaking his fibula and dislocating his right ankle. The hipdrop crackdown might be fifteen years too late, but it's started now and needs to be enforced properly. Giving blokes like Paps a slap on the wrist will just encourage players to roll the dice.
I didn’t know Tuiaki’s tackle was a hip drop..So it was. It’s hard to look at.

"The Players choose their attitude!"

Brad Arthur, talking about the eels, after getting flogged by the Dolphins.

Sounds familiar:(

Dale Finucance retires effective immediately.

I remember when the tigers were bagged mercilessly by the usual media mouthpieces for not signing Finucane as he was "just the type of player the tigers need". I thought it was pretty obvious that he was leaving Melbourne to try for a last big pay day before his body broke down.

All power to him, get what you can while you can, but I think it's pretty obvious Cronulla didn't get value out of him. One of the rare recruitment decisions our previous admin got right, as he's usually the type of player we'd pay well overs for.

Good post mate.
The upside for the Sharks is apparently he has set their joint alight with professionalism during training and in the games....which is obvious with how the Sharks are going right now.
Also being medically retired will only help them secure another top player on-top of recently signing AFB or retain players.

Just watching Panthers n souths...I'm going for the panthers but have a look at the Panthers rolling quick play the balls....so many of them are just quickly stepping straight over the ball with no effort to contact the ball at all...it's a really deliberate action which is really speeding the ruck up and really looks to be coached...Yeoh..Tao and Edwards are amongst the best at it
If a try came during that play I'd be challenging it based on the incorrect PTB ...rules are rules they've been telling us
Further to this...watching it some more what they're doing is placing the ball and stepping over it and quickly moving forward which gives the dummy half a stationary ball to easily scoop up...it's not sloppiness while trying to play the ball..it's done with precision and absolutely illegal and it gives a huge boost in.momentum.

How the hell, can they award this a try, but not Api’s last week? He has clearly got his hand on the sideline?
The bunker situation is rubbish, and needs overhauling.

I was thinking exactly the same thing watching the game last night. On top of that he clearly started losing control of the ball and in no way did he regain possession. The worst part of it was the try was confirmed in less than 20 seconds. Any angle would show concerns and a closer look was needed.

The people in the bunker have either been given instructions re certain teams or they're unable to watch TV and process what they're seeing. Either way it's not good enough

During the review process, and while the ref is waiting, they should play the Benny Hill music and have all the players run around in X4 speed.

Reece Walshe seems to have been reading the media a bit much....30 min in and he's thrown so much possession away with early tackle lo percentage " TV" plays...any other player and the commentators would be giving it to him

Glam boy Das.
What's the go with Cobbo sleeping on the wing.
He was killing it when Walters put him in the centres in the previous rounds. He doesn't like looking for the ball so put him in the centres where the ball finds him.
Roosters have kept the Broncos dangers men quiet, like Haas.

Yeh I hate that Das, if there's not a motion to play the ball but instead just step over the ball, it's just like touch footy....it goes against the grain of what the game is all about.

Panthers star Izack Tago has learned his fate over an ugly hip drop which saw him sin binned during Thursday night’s clash with the Rabbitohs.

Tago will miss just one game with an early guilty plea and two if he challenges it at the judiciary and loses.

Considering Lachlan Galvin and Max Plath received two match bans for similar tackles earlier in the season, Panthers fans should feel fortunate Tago will only miss a game should he accept the match review committee’s penalty.

We’ve been robbed again, this is just BS.
