Daryl : Lewis has been penertrating the new south wales backline all night
Big Jack : He should be concerntrating on the game theres plenty of time for that kind of stuff afterwards
Eastlake:... and Curry's been going through him all night too, Jack
Jack: Well he shouldn't be eating that s**t before a big game, he should know better.

Daryl : " Pearce of Jack, Gibbs on'

Big Jack : "What was that?"

Daryl : "Pearce of Jack, Gibbs on"

Big Jack : "Don't tell me to piss off"

Daryl : " Oh Jacks hit me with a right, then a left......."

Daryl and Jack were the best commentators of SOO ever.
I particularly loved the way Jack would drop a one liner and you could actually hear the gears grinding in Daryl's head for what seemed like seconds before he got it and let out a huge belly laugh.
Slow talking Jack as sharp as a rapier, and big, loud, fast talking daryl, as dumb as dogsh*t.

Im not defending those yelling out ....I heard them and couldnt hear what was being said, I dunno if Im like most, but I block out annoying ground announcers, and I couldnt work out why the minutes silence was being held, none in our group had heard the news, it was quite confusing.

I'll just add something else, not sure if Gibson was the first to come up with this tactic, but he taught halfbacks and five eighth's to kick it to the seaguls, which might seem strange at first but makes perfect sense. Seagulls are normally in an area where there are no humans, so thats why the great playmakers have done well under Gibson.

And also cricketers used that tactic, they would hit the ball it to the seagulls.

That was him alright, told Sterlo at the start of a season in the early 80s and he had no idea what he was talking about until the semi finals

It was announced over the PA that jack Gibson had died and thus we had the silence, the people yelling out and the people heard yelling shut the f**k up were both very disrespectful

I got a message from my mate during the centenary team being paraded that gibson and died so it felt bad when they said Jack Gibson couldnt be with us tonight when announcing him as coach of the century, considering the news mustnt have filterred through by then.

RIP Jack
