Meanwhile whilst the NRL continues to procrastinate and we wonder if we will ever see a NRL team in the West, Twiggy and the WARU have managed in the space of a few months to resurect the Force from the ashes and will soon kick off their new competition with their world rugby tournament.

Will be interesting to see what attendance they get.

Do you think it will be popular? I can't imagine so with the Force losing most of their stars and not playing top line opponents. But I guess it is a step further than RL have gone in Perth.

We are much better off going in a different direction and moving the game forward by adding North Sydney Bears as the 17th club. Anyone who disagrees with me is ingorant to the history and tradition of this iconic club and is using implosion logic to justify weakening the code.

Hard to say, there will be a big FU aimed at the ARU from WA RU fans that may boost crowds in the beginning, if they are sustained in a comp with little legitimacy will be interesting to see.

There has been some impressive marketing this week for it so they certainly aren't doing it on the cheap.

Its got more chance of being successful this year than the WC Pirates NRL club!

You can't make a good sort out of an ugly sort. Don't think Twiggy is aware the union product is crap. Must be a tax write off!

f**k you’re tedious

A bit "touchy" ? Don't like the bagging of a code that's really been superseded by its younger but better looking sibling? The ugly big brother has been propagated by its "friends in high places" in many places. Perhaps one of them being Twiggy! TRUTH hurts champ!

It’s been propagated because they’re not trying to have 37 teams in one state. You can’t blame union for actually giving it a go, they’ve lost their top tier team and are getting on with it whilst the RL is doing nothing in Australia.

I see concentrate on trying to weaken the strongest and biggest state for rugby league support in Australia. You choose to forget the sordid and despicable acts perpetrated by union worldwide against the code of rugby league . Some of us don't!

How could I forget about it when you bang on about it daily?

That code does not warrant or deserve a presence. It's essentially a failed form of rugby which had been propagated by its conections/friends on high places. You get that I'm your head and you will be a more informed and balanced individual whom knows what's been going on. Not just creating idle chatter for a dodgy sport!

And will continue to do so till you work that reality out! Its obvious your comments don't take this truth into account. This leads your discourse into being irrelevant and ill directed from a reality perspective !?

I am Twiggy Forrest and yes this is all a big conspiracy. Don't look at the fact that the NSWRL and QRL dictate the game to the RLIF while the rival code would never allow the international governing body to be talked down to by a domestic competition, it is all just a big conspiracy.

Faking hate union but jeez they’ve done a good job pulling this together in a few months with no funding from the actual code
Pays to have friends withdeep pockets

Pretty much, they had a mass rundown in the West of how they're operating, luring the guy who saved the NBL after they financially collapsed, been running ads through the Commonwealth Games, somehow managed to get Dennis Cometti, John Worsfold and a bunch of Eagles players to jump on the public relations campaign. They're pushing the Western Australia vs the World idea.

Just imagine that for a Pirates team, getting endorsements from major WA figures, round the clock advertising, etc. I've seen more advertising for this upcoming event than I saw for the double header at all.

I see fortescue are also announced as sponsors of of the waru competition for next 3 years. Twiggy has bought Union in the West and will throw everything at it by looks of it.

Yep, more marketing for the forces rebirth this week than for any nrl event here ever. But nobody could ever accuse the nrl of being marketing geniuses!

They've done a cross promotion too, every junior that signs up for the union season gets a family pass for the first game. The number of times I've seen that suggested to the NRL to get more kids and families at games, yet it's always blown off.

Greenberg and Beattie need to get their shit together fast. The number of Rockingham Sharks juniors that switched to the Union club next door this year has been fairly significant, dude has the sort of money that could actually lock League out of the market if he's able to get the media and corporate support on board. Given he's talking about a free to air deal with 7, I'd be very concerned if the NRL plan is to wait on changes to the broadcast deal.

Have I missed the part about an actual competition?

All I see is a few untelevised trials (not trying to be nasty, just saying)

It's hardly a comp just a bunch of visiting teams. They'll probs draw a couple of crowds around 10k but interest will die in the arse. Most people that were upset that they were cut weren't going to games and weren't watching on the Tele as it was. People just feel disrespected by the east coast again and are whinging about it.
