Expansion will happen in 2014 imo (maybe even one club 2014 and one 2015 depending on how developed a 2nd Q'land bid is). 2014 would be ok, appease the clubs that they get one year of higher funding and doesn;t delay the introduction too long in terms of momentum for bids and TV 4 value.

Well spoken again.

To paraphrase: "How does the little boy in Nowra fulfill his dream of playing for Australia?"

Perhaps its from his WC experience, but it seems that under Grant we will have a focus on the international game.

And indeed whilst Origin is about being the best in the game, being a Kangaroo should make you the best of the best.

Just to nitpick but it was Moura, a town in country QLD.

And yeah, it’ll be good to see how the Commission try and bring back Tests as a major focus of the season.

Everytime i have heard Mr. Grant speak, he speaks with confidence, a focus, a direction, not afraid to say 'I don't know at this time', sounds strong and has a good business sense.

I'm excited that he is internationally focused.

From today's country version of the Sunday Telegraph by Barry Toohey

PARRAMATTA legend Mick Cronin has added his voice to the growing list of rugby league luminaries who have publicly slammed recommendations to scrap Country-City Origin in 2013.
And he hopes rugby league's new independent commission does not turn out to be just a puppet for the 16 clubs that make up the NRL.
"In all that's been talked about, there hasn't been a lot of respect shown to country people," Cronin said.
"All we hear about with this new independent commission and this new television deal is how much it's going to increase the salary cap for the 16 NRL clubs. Nothing else.
"Now they want to scrap Country-City.
"Look at where the majority of players come from. They come from the bush. What about the country people who nurture these players and prepare them from a young age? Are they finally going to get some recognition and help?
"I'd just like to see more done for the bush and getting rid of the Country game, well, as I said, I just think it shows a total lack of respect for what the bush has done and continues to do for the game."

Well said.

Gordon Tallis just gave Gallop and the NRL both barrells over the way they treat the players. He says not enough was done to celebrate Lockyer's record and that all of the 300 club should have been up there to make the moment more special.

He finished his tirade by saying bring on the IC.

This from a former NRL board member.

He said this on the Fox Sports preview show.

He's right. A major all time record was broken, and hardly anything from the NRL.We should have made a big deal about it but it seems like noone in charge could be bothered doing anything...
