Hmmm, maybe we could all have a voting button box and they can survey 100K fans everytime they need to vote on a decision!

Thing is every fan has a different opinion. So you can't really have a represenative of all fans because all fans have differing views on the way to move forward.

Whoever would get votes in would be ridiculed by fans on boards like these and calls for his head would be often.

One fan cannot have all the power, so I propose a tri-lateral commission of:

1. The guy with the washing up glove on his head who holds an egg at Easts games
2. The obese fool in the plastic Tiger mask
3. The legend with the GST sign at St. George matches

A majority vote will pass all motions at this Rugby League think-tank.

So it would be no different to every other member then. :)

Well let's put it this way. If we could find someone who could read all the different opinions on this discussion board and somehow summarise all the different arguments into what fans agree to mutually, then they definately deserve a spot on the IC. ;-)

Seriously. I dont think these boards are or could be the be all and end all of Rugby League fandom. But maybe a LU forum concensus could be reached and given its due reverence.

The representative would need to be fed into from all clubs and regions with perhaps having reps in each of those areas. Reps would have to be independant volunteers with the top job being paid the going board salary.

Can't have fans vote for a member of the board. It would purely become a political election. It would be easy to get on the board if you just need the majority of fans votes. Cater to the majority of fans. Too easy.

Besides, 95% of fans haven't got a clue about the ins and outs of the game.

Funny enough, that system is good enough to elect our government, go figure.

I actually think that one board position should be given via election by NRL members. (it could be simply online)

They just need to make sure that there is a certain practical and technical knowledge in the aspirants. It certainly would help in giving the impression that it is 'our' game.

You forgot the obese guy in the Souths jersey with long grey beard and the untidy grey hair.

Typically Sydney-centric.

We'd end up with an expanded comp with Newton, Norths and Glebe getting the nod, Origin would revert to the old Inter-state series and all semi finals would be played at the SFS.

OK, we can also include the Nth Queensland supporter with all the piercings who wears a dog collar...
