As much as I'd like to see the commission in place now, I feel the longer this train wreck rides out, it will acctualy benefit the game more long term.

Their is another clip in the paper today, regarding apple and their push into itelevision.

On expansion, all that needs to be sorted this year is a commitment from the NRL, and to have it in writing for TV rights what each location is worth.

It might not be decided until 2013 at this rate.

The NRL should have announced expansion last year and now be telling the TV companies that the game is worth a lot more due to an extra game and wider national presence. We keep hearing from industry and the NRL that one of the reasons AFL is worth more is due to its national capital city reach, well how about being proactive and doing something about that, oh wait this is Gallop and the NRL!

The NRL Could have a national capital reach within 2 years if it wants its not rocket science.
New Team Perth. Sharks or Roosters to Adelaide, sorted. Then we should get a $1.5 billion TV deal, which the game is worth.
Unfortunately Gallop needs to grow a pair and ask his former paymasters for the money the game deserves.

Lol. Where do you think the money to pay for the expansion teams will come from.

And what makes the roosters a candidate to move? Or the sharks?

I haven't been following this closely, and thought the IC was already formed.

If it has taken them this long and the IC isn't already up and running, I'd hate to see how long it takes them to actually decide on something once it is formed, or the outcome of that decision for that matter.

I'm a realist, and I think $1B is possible, however we need to move away from the current media and embrace the Internet.

8 games a week for a couple of seasons will seriously hurt the amount the networks will pay, blind Freddy can see that.

The problem with some of you half wits is that you don't see reason. So f**king what if the AFL is bigger? Who really cares?

The NFL is bigger than the NBA yet a lot of people prefer basketball, it's just the way it is.

Who honestly gives a toss about what the AFL have done? I for one just want to see more emphasis placed on international Rugby League, it's the best aspect of the game IMO!

Oh and shoot me for baiting you tools in TFC.

I was at the scg for the test, had an invite into the members, as you can imagine a few people there were ch9 types, and I simply asked the question, what will the NRL get for it's rights.

Funnily enough one bloke kept going on about the new media platforms, for instance Apple are believed to be making a bid for EPL
Rights "BBC is the source".

Anyway, with a new media deal, he was saying the NRL could look to move the code to the Internet, which would create huge waves through the television industry.

Why wouldn't the NRL be happy with $800M? It's double what they have now.
