USA still needs to become a full member of the RLIF. So 2 years is a long time, but they still need to expand the game fairly quickly.

If athletes from other sports at an older age wish to play and help grow the game, great, we need plenty of you, but the future of Rugby League in the USA like anywhere is grass roots where they actually learn the game from a young age and grow up with it, if we can set this up the sky is the limit in any country.

I want the ARLC to pay for a permanent group of Rugby League development officers that rotate to differing parts where Rugby League manages to get an establishment no matter how small or grand it is to begin with. With the money they have just got, surly there is enough to fund a few million no matter how small at the start to get something like this off the ground.

The RLEF has done a fantastic job for the last 15 years or whatever, time for our neck of the woods with a bit of coin to join the party.

Am I talking logic or nonsense?

Not going to happen.

I am not going to name anyone or give any details on communications/conversations, nor get into a debate over this, but I can tell you 100% that I personally have had contact from some former Eagles players, as well as some who are in their "very large" player pool, and are starting to realize they are not going to get a shot at internationals.

Spinner, if a union player(s) were to declare an interest in playing for the Hawks, would they be expected to participate in domestic USARL matches before being selected in any rep sides e.g. the Pioneers?

Agree completely but the short sighted NRL clubs are the problem. I'm a Dogs supporter and it s%^ts me to tears how they don't even take the 9's seriously. Reading the NRL 10 year strategy I would have liked to have seen a tier 2 nation rookie (South Africa, USA, Canada, Serbia etc) added to the squad and not be included in the salary cap. I think this might be an incentive for clubs to take a punt on a player risk free. Hopefully the Penrith administration might take a gamble on one of the Canadian fellas due to have some training with them.

I believe the afl do this and they aren't even an international game.

I agree all clubs should be encouraged to bring in one or two os players even if it's in under 20's or the like.

Fantastic work from USARL and very professional display on the webcast.

Just quick note, Kristian Freed played for us (Latin Heat) in the 2014 Cabramatta 9s as a guest player. Fantastic player and great effort from him this match and from the USA Hawks!
