Crowds werent much to shout about in 2008
7th place play off 5,900 at Rockhampton
9th place playoff 8,028 Sydney
SF qualifier 8,224 on Gold Coast
SF1 26,659 Brisbane
SF2 15,855 Sydney.

Final was full in Brisbane 50,599
In 2008 only one game was played away from the east coast heartlands. This tournament is far far more ambitious in its venue spread.

Of course the tournament was notable for Australia's humiliation at the hands of the kiwis and the subsequent end of Ricky's rep coaching career after he had to resign following his abuse of the refs the next day.

Getting 4 minnows isn't doing well. At least my family save money on the tickets they were going to buy. It's RL's loss there. They aren't going to watch 4 useless teams.
Lol you know when I say a lot of Aussies don't understand international sport, this is what I mean.

I just was looking for tickets online for the Townsville game and noticed the France v Lebanon game has sold out!

If true it’s a master stroke holding this game in Canberra.

I was thinking maybe Lebanon see this game as a massive chance of winning and have rallied the community in Sydney..

I don't know where the numbers come from but someone in here said that they've sold <3000 tickets for it so far.

Sydney and Canberra games im buying late to give my less enthusiastic mates a chance to get interested

I’m thinking of heading down to Canberra myself for the Australia v France game when I return from Townsville.. Can’t wait for the World Cup to start.

Yep spot on @adamkungl. You'll find that some Bays also have every second row unavailable. Most of the minnow matches have this set up, I imagine so that it will give the appearance on television that the stadium is 'filled'. Not a bad idea.

For the Canberra game above, and possible the Australia v France game, I doubt we'll see the Upper (Western?) stand go on sale at all.

Down to 2,198 tickets left for the PNG v Wales game in Port Moresby and now every bay (bar Bay 27 and the sold out bays) on the Eastern Stand has been put on sale at Mt Smart.

Should at least look alright on TV, with all the middle bays on the Eastern Stand now full, plus the edges on the upper stand, 99% of the lower southern, and the middle bays on the Western Stand. Estimating, I would suggest this game would be around the 10K+ mark allocated now. Definitely showing a lot more momentum than Melbourne.

Canberra has made some movement in sales, especially on the Western side... possibly approaching the 3K mark now.
