So for comparisons sake, the remaining PNG tickets are for 80PGK (~32 AUD), with the most expensive tickets having being sold for 120PGK (~48AUD). I'd imagine that's quite pricy for PNG folk. It's about as expensive as some of the lesser games in Australia.

That looks to me like perfect marketing and pricing. Would be great for cheap tickets for locals but then there would be no profits and most likely no future big events. Will be sold out and profitable so well done! More games likely for png in the future!

I have tickets for the western side middle bay. It only went on sale for 2 days. Very weird. Is there a chance I'm going to be sitting on my own?
Also, what about tickets sold over the counter? Assuming there is somewhere in melbourne cbd (near the league of legends) where you can buy tix?

No, I was surprised that where the players statues are at front of Fed square they didn't have a RLWC merchandise box and tickets sales, in fact even the banner above the statues was not for the RLWC! No one can ever accuse us of being marketing gurus!!

Would be great to see someone like France do a post season tour with Tests against the Kumuls and possibly some tour games against the Hunters or teams in the PNG comp.

The media manager for France told me that france Lebanon had sold 13, 000 so looking good after walk ups

If that's the case (and considering how many community groups and secret passwords for this game there are, it's believable) then 18K-20K is a realistic target for this match.

Let's hope so, that would look great on the broadcast and go a long way to helping us hit our 450K target.

If that’s the case then I will humbly eat my words.

I did read a UK publication today saying they expect a crowd of 50,000 in Canberra! We’d have to squeeze two to a seat. Clearly someone got a bit excited.

If Canberra gets above 10,000 for Lebanon versus France, that will be incredible!

I've read a few different people now say the 13K number for Canberra, so let's hope there is some truth to it... If nothing else, they really need to put some more seats on sale for this game. Bays 74 - 78 in Cat C are pretty much sold out, only limited Cat B's left and only 67 & 71 have any seats left in Cat A, with about 50-odd seats in both...

Now there is still plenty of space left in the venue, and no doubt a ridiculous number of holds, so hopefully they just start opening up the rest of Canberra Stadium sooner rather than later.

Getting more confident now that the Western Upper tier will be filled, bays 81, 82, 90 & 91 have been opened along with 21, 33 & 34 but all seem to show most of the seats are 'Sold Seats" with limited availability. I'm starting to think (hope) that most of the stadium is filling up and they are opening up areas as required when unallocated tickets are returned from other vendors.

what are "holds" ? Tickets/seats held back? Cheers
Yeah holds on Ticketek are seats which have been not released to buy or have been taken off-sale.

636 left for PNG v Wales now. In Auckland, only Bays 37 & 11 have more than say 15 Cat A tickets left, whilst in the Cat Cs, 18U, 19U & 20U in the Southern end plus 35 in the Grandstand have more than just single seats...

Considering the interest in Cat C seats for this game, I don't know why they are still holding the back rows of the Southern Upper, anyway, the TV arc is going to look good for this game... Let's just see how many seats get sold everywhere else...

Chucking another 10% on an already steep ticket price... For the sake of what, 5 or 10k extra revenue? They'd want to be confident of selling the thing out to do that. If there were any chance of spare seats I'd be inclined to go the other way and drop prices.

Hard to put a price on a jam packed stadium for the opener. Plenty of goodwill created for the rest of the tournament.
