Wouldn't be surprised to not see the World Cup back here in 2029. Fans here may never be any more than NRL and State of Origin fans.

I can't wait for the Quarters when England play PNG in Melbourne. While Australia will play Samoa (probably) in Darwin. What fantastic scheduling.

If you were a Lebanon fan based in Sydney (which most are) would you opt for the 6hr round trip to Canberra on a Sunday or pick one of the two Sydney games on a Saturday night?

Honestly, the ticketing strategy has been worse than the venue / draw strategy... For France v Lebanon so many bays had almost no tickets available which would have turned away lots of fans.

That may well be the solution. NRL and SOO in Oz with the ocassional ANZAC Test and Internationals in expanding markets..To.be fair though, some of the scheduling is woeful..

There would have been a full house in Tvl for same the opening game that was in Melbourne (26k v 22k) dickhead.

People in Tvl are not f**king stupid. Fiji v USA is a disgrace of a game to give to Tvl.

Disgrace of a game? Townsville get 3 games. This game had to be played somewhere, why is Townsville too good for it?
It was a terrible crowd, minor pool games in 2008 all drew more. Let’s hope the next game draws more.

Canberra doesn't look too bad when they did the wide shot. There looks to be a number of people on the same side as the TV cameras.

Maybe 8K-10K...

Cairns has built nicely.

I think NZ is going to be great for crowds for the rest of the tournament too.

Townsville gets one more game than Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Where you know millions of people live. I would be stoked to be in Townsville and go to these games.
You do realise these games have to be played somewhere. Why is Townsville of all places too good for Fiji v usa

I’m in Canberra. I’m angry that I wasn’t able to buy a ticket in a better area (where there are clearly vacant areas).

WTF were they thinking?

People would have logged on and thought “ only rubbish seats available. I’ll watch on TV”
