you can add it
you'd be wrong

Kangaroos V England RL world cup 1.4 Million on FTA TV alone ,V France 1.2 Million
add the ANZAC test ( 1.3 Million )
the socceroos in their world cup qualifiers here so far & in other time friendly zones
barely half that on FTA & pay combined

only our cricket team is watched by more australians at the international level

If you'd not misrepresented my post, you would have known what I was saying. I was talking about attendances at games, not tv figures.
This Wednesday night will prove that.
Of course, RL tv ratings are massively larger than football games. I would never even try to argue that. It's fact. And I'm more than happy about that.
But when it comes to the Kangaroos vs the Socceroos, RL comes a distant second in ground attendances. It is what it is. TV ratings compared, the Socceroos come a very distant 2nd.
Of course and clearly, cricket is number one for the international support for ground attendance, and AFL is number last. lol.

You are way off the mark! It would have been a full house. You underestimate the attraction of a Kangaroos v England match. A rarety in Sydney. You're the fool. Throughout this world cup you have been backtracking and making poor calls. At least you are consistent.

Historical evidence would suggest you are dreaming!

Decent crowd in Sydney for this one though

History suggests that England v Kangaroos in Sydney has not happened for decades!? This in itself has a 'novelty value' that would have attracted a full house at the SFS. Unfortunately the opportunity has been thwarted by a decision to have that game in Melbourne where a 31000 seat stadium hosted 22000 people. The SFS would have been full! I know I would have made the effort to attend from Newcastle and plenty of others would have too.Along with plenty of expats from England . Don't know when the next chance for such a game will occur in Sydney? Hope it does happen as it is long overdue.

I remember seeing footage of GB vs Oz at the SFS in 1988 and it looked half empty so historically I think it's safe to say Sydney has had international/RL crowd issues for decades.

As for the crowds this week they've been fantastic! 20 K for two matches, reasonable 7k crowd for two neutrals in Canberra and surely two 15 K plus crowds for PNG and Perth!!!

Next year on the stand alone origin weekend. On the Saturday play NZ vs Tonga at Eden Park in Auckland.

Have Samoa vs Fiji as the game before. Big double header and see if you cant get 40 000 plus.

Yes. A game in NZ and a double header game in Sydney would be good. Remembering fans will and have attended this concept in big numbers in Sydney last season. Its there to be organised and the tv ratings and the interest another positive

yeah no
the double header at Eden Park , Samoa V Fiji then NZ V Tonga on the Saturday night
sydney doesn't need anything to go with the Origin game on the Sunday night

long weekend in June
lets get it done

Think you will find their is enough nations and interest to do both. It's not wise give other codes a complete free kick on a Saturday in Sydney. A game on Sydney like last season will be welcomed and complementing a representative weekend.

Could have something like this?

Friday Night
PNG vs Lebanon in Sydney.

Saturday
NZ vs Tonga in Eden Park Auckland.
Samao vs Fiji in Sydney.
Womens Origin, U20 Origin, lower levels rep games in Brisbane. Free entry.

Sunday Night
Origin in Sydney

yeah there is
a pacific test double header in the unofficial capital of the pacific ... Auckland
& an Origin in Sydney

theres heaps of saturdays & sundays etc where theres no NRL in Sydney & other codes play on those days ,so your point is moot

Agree with the PNG playing in PNG. Wonder if that stadium has lights for tv coverage at night? Would be good on a Fruday night . Still think Sydney can host an islander and ladies rep night. Its good for the rugby league and doesnt give other codes a free kick on Saturday which has been happening too much.

Well not really, people are discussing a rep round fixture for 2018 in a thread clearly marked RLWC2017 Crowd Watch.

My suggestion is that the discussion break off this one as they really are different topics
