We need to stop & think for a sec. We’ve played awful in 2 games & lost 13-12 in both and Marto & Garner both should’ve scored tries last nite.Marto right on halftime has us 12all & it’s similar to last yrs prelim. Our D is still there, our fitness is will be better but like Yeoy said in the presser we’ve come home strong. Our execution is down a little but that comes with combos.
Soni Luke needs to play 60mins at least as we looked dangerous & takes us back to what worked last yr with Kenny & Api.

We need to stop shooting for the stars & wanna be undefeated minor premiers, focus on a top 8 spot then Try & sneak into 4, more a rebuild then a premiership season but be there when whips are cracking and we’re always a chance.

There's a few reasons we can't do that. But the main is we have the worst starting hooker in the competition.

Also have no size in the second row anymore.

We lost 2x players who could make something from nothing. They're replaced with 2x players who don't know what to do when presented with an opportunity.

The flow on effect of losing these players means less time and opportunity for everyone else. Garner doesn't attract defenders. So Luai, Tago and Turuva will need to work with less space off a slower play the ball with poor service from Mitch Kenny. They'll beat the odd tackle to spark stuff. But we wont be able to shift left as a cheat code for easy metres and linebreaks anymore.

Pretty much everyone is saying Luke should get increasing minutes as the season progresses Panthers fan or not so that'll sort the slow service out if ivan sees it as well. Garner I agree on but don't know what they can do. @Girds89 mentioned Mavrik but I can't comment on him since I've seen so little. Maybe we have a better option for the second row.

I’ve said similar things a lot the last week so forgive me but we really need to look at what we are doing with the forward pack. As good as fish, Yeo, Leota are it’s not enough to have us a genuine premiership threat with out some strike on the edges. Martin will be negotiating again at the end of the year and currently the next edge forward into the side is hosking, the next middle forward is huth, fine depth players but not long term options by any means. Young forwards need a couple of years of fg before they really hit their straps, who do we have in that position? No one even close. We don’t have money to go out and buy anyone. We are a development club, we need to develop the forwards. We do it fine with the backs but we just aren’t doing it in the pack as far as I can tell. Geyer and lisati look like good prospects, if one of them stand in cup this year start getting them some fg minutes, beyond a game or two during origin.

100% mate!

I hated saying it but we need a major overhaul of our playing style and 5 weeks in the pre-season just isn't enough.

We will start slow and come home strong, Hopefully we aren't too far behind like in 2019 to make up the difference and still make the 8

Luke only had to make 13 tackles in 25 mins, He needs to show more in defence before starting is an option.

Mav isn't FT, Can't play until Round 11.

Middles are fine, Lindsay Smith and Blacker would do a job off the bench

That is my reasoning behind needing to play Peachey, Look at our squad very few spark players particularly in the backrow.

Hopefully they fast track Hassett or Mav for the back end of the year, So we have better options to start next year

Defence was always going to stay strong. Need to find a way to score 4 tries a game regularly

guys arguing on the field now

rumours of SC not getting along with certain players

Ivan needs to get control of this quickly

I think blacker and smith would be ok off the bench also but as it stands they still both behind huth, that’s what I think needs to change . If we have an injury bring in one of them into the side instead of Huth.

Arguably a fair try was disallowed.

On the line there near the end, Ive be seen those given.

Good passion afterwards, but Salmon needs to know his place.

Blacker is injured and Smith should be in, Ivan plays it very safe usually but also wants to win. He should see the light you would think

I'd much rather start round one with a solid defence than a solid attack. They will be fine and build on that.

I am the same, for me the fact we can lose the game conceding only 2 tries from brain farts. Is a concern this was to a side that ran 9th.

Massive result for the Broncos. They almost butchered it a couple of times.

Garner needs to the learn the ways of smug.

It’s not a bad thing to drop an early one at the start of the season, especially after years of excellence.

The Broncos were very well prepared and Kevvie did a tremendous job.

Rennos fg was acquired too cheaply.

Nate also seemed a bit flat, a few cobwebs.

Agree, Luke is a great option attack wise, but he would be targeted in defense,
