Jnr will be a loss but there are others who would be a worse loss. Maybe no forward in the game with his brut force but there are certainly atleast 6 better props in the game.
I have said it before guys like Klemmer Woods and RGC are the best young props in game.I know they dont have quite the impact as some of Jnrs runs but are almost as effective and better defenders.
The reality is even thou some charges are great.90% are identical to what a mannah or wicks does. It is not like Jnr is busting line like Moimoi used to_Or marty tapau or tamalolo is

Beau Scott is my new favourite. Friggin beast.

Never liked him prior to Parra. Love him now

I was very critical of the Choc signing, but never understood the problem with Scott. No suggestion we overpaid, or for too long. Maybe he wasn't great last year but when I watched the Knights he seemed OK. And not too old.

I'm sure Watmough would like to have another game or few before he thinks about giving it up, provided he can get recover to get medical clearance.

If he doesn't come good enough to play again, then he's done.

Newcastle were/are a dumpster fire as well. Hard for an edge-forward whose calling card is brutal defence to shine when the team is leaking points like a 2011-2013 Eels outfit. Anyone that was judging Scott on that were damnably tough markers.

I would like to see a fit Watmough back. Just so he has a game or two with Foran

Watmough (the one that doesnt think is a playmaker) in the middle, scott on the right, mau on the left

I remember some people questioning his effort last year, but whenever I saw the Knights play his effort was a standout. So quick off the line. I don't think he offers much in attack, but I don't think he ever has. He's a brutally effective defender.

So he'll play if he's right but if he doesn't come good he's done??? Talk about going out on a limb........

Pretty much. He is sort of just there to do the odd hit up when needed and for better or worse he fancies his offload. I do think he runs some tidy lines in the red zone though. Might not score off them a great deal but he keeps the interior defenders very honest.

On the other side of the ball though...he is a legitimate monster. The grub/thug factor is great too. He can unsettle opposition players with his bullshit which is something we haven't had in a long time.

If Watmough plays who misses out??? Kenny and Mau are awesome, Tep is also too good to leave out. Peni and Wicks added plenty of sting off the bench again tonight. Good spot to be in i suppose.

In my opinion Manu's defence is better.

I think Ma'u's one-on-one defence is better - he is quicker and more agile and has better technique. But Edwards has him for size and strength so probably wrestles better.

And I'm not bagging Kenny Edwards. He is probably my favourite player.

Pritchard? Watmough can have his 20mins off the bench, to say goodbye.

Even at his best I don't think Watmough gets in our side ahead of Scott, Edwards, Ma'u or Moeroa. Maybe if he goes around again next year, he can join the front row rotation to fill the gap left by Paulo?
