I think the water is cover for being able to provide direction on the field. But you knew that.

If they just needed some merkin to run the water they could get somebody a lot cheaper.

"Another positive for the Eels is that if you forgive them once again for their Roosters display, they are only conceding 18 points per match; this is compared to the 30.8 points they were leaking on average last season."

Great journalism. I wonder how many points we "leaked" last year on average if we took out our 6 worst defensive efforts from 2013 (ie 1/4 of the games played). Pou Pou?

If you take out the 6 worst halves of last year, we leaked 27.27 points per game.

But really 1 bad half in 4 games may prove an outlier and anomaly or an indicator. We will know in 5-6 more weeks, but more than 10% of the total sample size is waaaay too high to draw any conclusions.

But if you take out our worst 6 games (total) from last years performances, we only leaked 24.7 ppg. Wow, 2013 is starting to look half respectable when you selectively take out the bad games.

What was our points against like if you only include our wins?

Because we average 16 points against in wins so far this season. I'm no P.P. Escobar but to me that seems a bit high to be conceding that many in winning games

I took out all games where the difference was 13+/- as this is the standard worse case option for starts in betting.

We had an okay year.

10 games - won 4 lost 6 = 40% winning record
Differential -44
Average for 15.6 points.
Average against 20 points

So basically undefeated if we could have averaged an extra converted try each game.

The broncos are the real deal this season. If eels can beat them , youse are in for a good year.

I like our side at the moment perfect mix of experienced NRL players and new talent.

That backrow with Edwards and Mau has been the find of the year.

Pauli Pauli is starting to get his chance and he looks to not be out of his depth out there. I hope he can improve and establish a spot. I think Allgood will make way for Lussick when he is back.

My only criticism is the backline. I still don't rate Tonga in attack or defence and think he needs to dramatically improve or play for Wenty.

hahaa the team's arse was well and truly torn. After roosters clocked 40 it didn't matter what the final score was to me. The thing that did matter to me was how the side bounced back the next two weeks.
What really matters for me is how the team bounces back for the rest of this season.
That type of thrashing must never happen again unless we experience many injuries and suspensions.

You can look at all the stats but a they say-catches win matches.

I think at $3.30 parra are a good bet.Brisbane just beat a cowboys team playing average. A dogs team who did play ordinary and Saints who I cant rate. I think Souths are great odds too at $1.70.

Parra have the points but 3 yrs of punishment is still in back of our heads.not erased that easily

Can anyone tell me why Kelepi is in the NYC this week? Is he returning from injury and if so why not with Wenty

Good luck guys, both teams are streets ahead compared to last year so it should be a good game.

Because he's eligible for NYC whereas two other promising young edge forwards (Santi and Ualesi) are too old for under 20s. This way they all get a run. The important thing is they all get a chance to work on their game.

Plus winning NYC games is fun for everyone, including the fans. You can't just throw kids into Wenty as soon as they're going well in the under 20s.

What f**king time is the game on? The draw on Parra's website says 8:40pm local time, meaning the time in Brisbane. That makes 9:40pm Sydney time.

But nrlstats just says 7:40pm.

Shirley this means the game is on at 07:40pm local time (i.e. where the game is played), meaning it is on at 08:40pm in Sydney.

Amirite?
