Robbie Farah gone?

Now what do we want at West Tigers, a captain who is a leader, mentor and someone who has given and does give his all for the team and club and has only 1 year left on his contract

OR

A coach who thinks he's a first grade coach who has kept telling everyone that it's about improving defence even though he has the same defensive coach from last year. A coach who has been happy to bench his captain, a coach who has changed the playing structure of the team in that, he has taken responsibility away from his captain when the team has needed that captain. a coach who from reports made his captain play injured after SOO even though he needed to be rested.

what a rabble of a club

If Halatau isn't re-signed, then the oldest players at the club next year will be Lawrence and Naiqama (both currently 26)

That's a remarkable thing, madunit.

If only Potter had been retained for the rest of his contract and given a decent chance.

Let's not change history here. Our Robbie didn't like Potter - remember.

Let's get Matt Ballin.

We already have Halatau available to mentor Cherrington and Dene is also capable of backrow duties. Why not just extend his contract for another year. His contract extension would not break the bank.

Ballin is a top line 9, probably on half the money of our dear Robbie if not less. He comes from a winner culture. He has about 2-3 years left, doesn't mind not playing 80 minutes, would be a great mentor for young Cherrington to take over in that 2-3 year period.

Farah probably went to the well one too many times. Got rid of Sheen, than Potter. Probably said to management "get rid of Taylor or I go" and management likely said "close the door on the way out Robbie".

Wests Tigers, i see what you are doing here. You are taking a huge, huge gamble and it better pay off. Robbie is the heart and soul of our pathetic team, a player who turns up each week when he knows he could easily slot straight into a team that takes NRL seriously.

I'm honestly so f**king over all this. I'm at my limit. If I don't see significant improvement by the end of 2017, I'm done with this club. This year is a write off, next year doesn't look that great. But this gamble is so we can build a new club, with a new roster. It will take until 2017 to see that roster come together.

However, I'm not going to hold my breath. For years we have been shedding players to open up a "war chest"...and it never happens. There is always excuses. Salary cap, players don't want to move, board infighting. Quite frankly I don't give a shit anymore.

End of 2017...2 years to show improvement or I'm out

He is earning a million a season according to media reports. I'd think that amount would be in the ballpark of what he is earning. We are not getting value for money....time for him to go. The Potter thing has left a bitter taste in my mouth about him. Shame, as he is the best player in the joint venture's history by a fair stretch.

The club will still have to pay a fair bit of that if he goes. Paying yet another ex-player to play against us. We'll also have to find someone to make his 30 to 40 tackles per game.

I think i'd tAke the word of Farah over the word of a loud-mouth, redneck, bogan whose intellect is on a par with a piece of bark.

Mind boggling decision...

Whilst his form has been way down this year, I think he deserved a more dignified end.

Of course the question is how much of the million will they still be paying ( and doesn't he have two years remaining on his deal, not one?).

I can't see anyone else in the NRL paying more than half, so the club gets the privilege of paying a million bucks to see him run around elsewhere the next two years...

I think this is the issue. It just seems we overpay certain players and don't learn from it. I'm worried about Woods as well. We can't have a couple of guys on a fortune.

This comment against Farah gets used all the time. Who knows if there is any truth in it whatsoever.

I agree with both points made here by Buffalo Rules. Farah has been a loyal player to the club and while there were many rumours about him and coaches he is still the captain and deserves to leave under better terms IMO.

The second point made is the crux of this whole situation. If we are left to pay a million for him to play elsewhere we are crazy. Why not just pay a million and keep him. In two years anything may happen. Ten games into next year I think Taylor will be shown the door based on our current performances (which I don't see improving).

The whole situation is just ludicrous.....

oh, the luv for Robbie is obvious. The guy comes across as an arrogant shit.

Don't try to change history dude, he was one of the main characters in the downfall of two coaches which the club has paid a squillion for, and is more concerned with origin in the last few years,

I not saying he hasn't played some brillant football for the club but don't tell me there is not more to this than the salary cap.

So why are you taking the word of Farah (when he hasn't said a word)forgetting the rest of your pitiful post?
