Both hookers are great hookers, and both will have big rep careers, reminds me of the Benny Elias and Steve Walters era....2 great hookers.....2 rep players who did great things and which was better is an arguement that cannot be won.
Bederus cannot even be put into the same league as Smith and Farah, Bederus is from the old school of Hookers. Hookers these days need more to there game then they did 10 years ago. A kicking game and the ability to help with try assists.
A hooker with a kicking game can get a team 40/20's and vital yards because they kick from dummy half, Bederus once was a great player but he is now a one trick pony that is outdated.
Players like Farah and smith have exellent kicking games that can match many halfbacks and then they can also set up there backs to score trys......Farahs 18 try assists in 2007 prove that.
Farah was definately a stand out in an otherwise poor side in 2007 but i can only imagine how good Farah would be if he had the forward pack around him that Smith has had over the past few seasons. In 2005 when the tigers were playing well Farah was still setting up trys with his short kicking game and great passing game.
Time will tell but if Farah gets a blues Jumper in 2008 he will grow and become a better player, Look at Players like Stewart and Hayne, and look at what some origin experience did for them, And Farah will do well in a big game like and origin, dont forget he was a member of a grand final winning team so he knows what a big game is all about
