Laughable that a club cannot secure a doctor to come be at their game for 90 minutes for the match to go ahead. Big plus for Wests though to get the 2 points, would have been belted if they'd played.

It's asinine that the RMC constantly gets screwed over with ground closures and postponements. The NSWRL have to do something to enable the competition to run effciently without constant annoying delays and postponements to make the season drag on. The biggest joke was last year with a Wenty game not even being played after a washout because it was irrelevant to the table makeup. It's pathetic.

Just back from the Hills vs Belrose game - Hills 26 - 16.

Well one piece of the puzzle solved, Hills young fullback doesn't play for 3 or 4 weeks and Hills can't beat time with a stick, he returns and walla they return to the winning circle.

But I must say, they will need to improve dramatically to push to be considered contenders.

Belrose have now lost 6 in a row. The premiers in 2013 are now 10th out of 13. Mark Meredith made his comeback in Asquith's win over Cabra in the Shield and Windsor dropped a point to Guildford.

Defending premiers, East Campbelltown recorded their 5th loss this season when going down to Mounties and Wenty confirmed themselves as favourites with a 36-4 demolition of Blacktown

Surely the NSWRL has the power to divert rain from some of these grounds.

Don't schedule games for grounds notorious for easy closures from councils. It's a semi-professional competition rife with postponements and the appearance of a joke as a result.

Does anyone know when the Ron Massey rep side will be named? Any predictions for the make up of the side?

Within the next few weeks. It'd have to be a blend of Wenty and Mounties players with some Asquith guys added in

I would expect that a tweet will go out on the day of the game. If the past is any guide Wests will get 4 in and Kingsgrove will have one in the team.

Was anyone at Lidcombe today? Please post results, NSWRL media appears to be on strike today but before the walk out they did advise that Wenty beat Kingsgrove 60-10.

Auburn won only 4 games out of 10 in the first round but they have scored 107 points in the last two games. They have fielded poor teams in some games but in recent weeks past players Gerard McCallum and Hala Akoula have returned to the club and Lyndon McGrady, Topou Longi and George Tsikiras have come back from NSW Cup so they are looking more competitive.

If we had a top5 finals Blacktown, Auburn and Windsor would be under pressure to win every week but they know they qualified weeks ago. The absurd 8 out 11 means that teams can take it easy until mid August.

In the late shield game tonight Belrose fell to their 7th straight loss when Peninsula Seagulls beat them 32-6. The Seagulls did not lose until round 18 last year and had the 3 top try scorers in Ryan Oldfield, Vinny Ngaro and Rhys Wolloghan. They missed these guys early in 2015 but Ngaro came back from NSW Cup in round 6 and now Oldfield resumed playing in jersey 24 tonight and scored 2 tries.

Wests are going to play Randwick in a hybrid game in October.

yeah that should be interesting. the rules favour union because once you cross halfway it is rugby union rules. when australia plays against ireland in "international rules football", which is a mix of aussie rules football and gaelic football, they don't change rules when they cross the halfway line. they just mix the rules no matter where the ball is. it would have been better if the hybrid rugby rules were like that.

Was told over the weekend the Ron Massey Rep team playing in a few weeks in Coffs Harbour will represent the competition as a whole, rather than the best 17 available. Instead of a team featuring majority Mounties/Wenty/Asquith, each team will have 1 or 2 representatives.

In the RMC, Asquith have dropped to 5th place after losses to Concord-Burwood and Wests in the last two games. Wenty broke a deadlock against Cabra with a try in the final minute of the game while Blacktown, Mounties and Windsor had straight forward wins with Geoff Daniela turning out for Windsor.

In the Sydney Shield, Peninsula trailed Hills 34-18 with 11 minutes to go and then ran in 4 tries to win 38-34. 2nd placed Windsor drew with 6th placed East Campbelltown. Mounties, Auburn, Asquith and Wenty also had wins.

The NSWRL table has given the win to Hills.

The Hills fullback is out (including today) for a few weeks with a groin strain, they seemingly can't win when he not there. 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 lose when he plays, 4 - 5 loses when out.

4 tries in 11 minutes, haven't they heard about closing a game out - someone needed to step up and take control.

The NSWRL media department when it comes to RMC/SS is downright amateur. Results not published accurately or at all on game day, tables incorrect, lack of score updates throughout the afternoon. It's a shame as both comps are great to keep up with.

Speaking of RMC, surely the NSWRL must look at what point there is in having Kingsgrove compete next year. They get belted each week and don't seem to be improving at all. With St Mary's coming back next season, surely they could dump Kingsgrove down to Shield level and promote someone like Hills to make the RMC just that little bit more competitive for all teams involved.

Absolutely. When Kingsgrove entered the RMC was down to 7 teams and the 4 team Sydney Shield comp from the previous season was not conducted, so there was no criteria to satisfy. Now there are 15 clubs (9 having 2 grades) and St Marys will make 16. It is feasible that Kingsgrove might fit in the bottom 4 teams out of the 24 currently playing.

The table has now been rectified so that Peninsula have the 2 points and Hills are back to 19.
