i do not know the requirement for Rookie of the year , however it appears he must be "flashy" and mistakes and the hard work are overlooked.

Even from Souths ,Johnston has been great scoring some great tries , solid defence and rarely makes a mistake at the back. He would get my vote , however what about second rower Kyle Turner , holding position in a strong souths pack , minimal mistakes , great workload and holding his own when switched to centre for a couple of games.

Cartwright from the Panthers has also stuck out for mine as does Copley if he qualifies.

you know it isn't going to a forward regardless of actual performances. Only contender we had was ethan lowe but that didn't turn out very well.

agree with the turner comments, been consistent which is most difficult thing for rookies. if he can finish the season strong big semi is in with a chance

Brooks may be out for rest of the year if Tigers fail to make the Finals even still rounds 1-26 decifer the award.

AJ barring injury will have 5 more weeks to impress.

Johnston I think should be an odds on favourite from here getting Top Try-scorer is certainly in reach and if he claims that then it's an easy decision.

I think the Semi trailer will get him for top try scorer honours (2up with 5 to play). Don't think he is eligible for ROTY though.

Rookies are the future and should not be individually placed on pedastils only to find the fall to high.

Who's Blake Cartwright?

I'm leaning towards Alex Johnston. Great try scoring rate and most of the others who could take it out have been injured or in poor form and it generally goes to the bloke in the spotlight.

I dunno who will win it but i do know that Paul Carter,Tepai Moeroa and Blake Cartwright are easily the best potential players from the list and more than likely the only ones we will remember in 10 years time
