No-one is close to Bellamy but Bennett is bloody great and ill forever be thankful for 2010.
I think Robbo is brilliant as a man manager, it takes great skill to organise a team of superstar egos and get it to work. Not sure he’d go as well without a great roster.
Bellamy could turn a donkey into Winx!
If throwing “tanties” was an Olympic sport, Robinson would have more gold medals than Bolt and Phelps combined. Let’s see him at a club where: a. its salary cap isn’t malleable and b. its “cattle” is average before declaring him a good coach.
Personally, the bloke shits me on the same level as Manly.
Sorry I look at him the same way as I look at the Manchester City coach in the Premier League , an ego manager. If the coach of Manchester United or Liverpool were told to coach Huddersfield for a year and improved that club’s results then I’d say there goes a great coach. Equally if Bellamy or the Roosters coach could turn the Titans around then I say there goes a great coach. But I doubt if Bellamy or Robinson or Bennett for that matter, will be putting their hands up to coach at the Titans too quickly, A good coach can only work with the cattle he has got. Some do it better than others....No Mary not you....that’s why I always thought David Waite was such a wonderful coach for us. He took an average side to the grand final and semis. He had our team play collectively better then they were as individuals. He made them a team that gave everything and he didn’t have much to work with. The present Roosters coach has everything he needs to succeed. Money, sponsors, tpas, an elastic salary cap and a team full of rep players. Is he the best coach? Maybe but I’d rather a coach like David Waite.
Nobody shits anyone here as much as that bloke.
This sort of factual information is entirely unwelcome in a Roosters bashing thread.Robbo joined the last place Catalans dragons in 2011 and took them to 6th and then to 4th the following year.
When he joined the roosters we had only qualified for 2 of the past 8 finals series with 4 bottom 4 finishes and a spoon in that time frame,. We had the same resources as we do now but no one whinged about our cap in that period.
Robbo is absolutely on the top rung of the coaching ladder and it is unclear to me why he doesn't get the respect he deserves. He still has a ways to go to reach Bellamy and to a lesser extent Bennett because they have done it longer but he is well on his way. It is no fluke that 2010 was a good year in a rubbish 8 year period as that was the year Robbo was the defensive coach.
He is a proven man manager and more importantly he understands the concept of building a season and executes it perfectly. Taking out 2016, he has masterfully built and managed every season to have the team firing at the right time of year. It hasn't always held up in finals obviously but he has given the players every opportunity to win.
2019 is no different.
Now compare that with Mary. He has had a good roster most of the time but has time and again failed to manage the season effectively resulting in the dragons falling away at the end of most seasons.
Of course it has, just as the throroughbreds and news limited have helped Bennett and Bellamy.Would you agree Uncle Nicks moneybags have help Robbos career.
Just this thread?Lol at this thread. I think following this club had made some people lose their minds
x2 Premierships
x4 Minor Premierships
x5 Prelim Finals
x6 top 2 finishes
in just shy of 7 full seasons.
Clearly, he's no Mary; but he goes alright.
One season there he had just a great roster (which is a lot less than he is used to, he is used to an obscenely great roster). That year he finished like bottom 4 or something. He isn't good.
f**k off Kungl. If, as claimed, "anyone" could coach the Roosters roster:
That means Mary could coach Roosters to a premiership
And if Mary could win a premiership
It implies that Mary is not the problem at St George
Which means you should give him 3 more years to have a go

You mean 2016, after we'd let James Maloney go to the Sharks? After we dumped Michael Jennings and he went to the Eels and brought in Dale Copley? Where we had no Jared-Ware Hargreaves for most of the season as he recovered from the ACL injury he's suffered in Round 20 of the 2015 season, only playing 11 games that year? Where we had no Boyd Cordner for much of the season after he ruptured a pectoral muscle in he pre-season and only played 11 games all season? Where we had no Mitchell Pearce for 8 rounds following his fine and suspension for the stupid dog video, and with origin and injuries he only played 12 games all year? After we'd lost Roger Tuivasa Scheck to the Warriors?
Only good part of that season was the new blood that debuted that year (Latrell Mitchell, Joseph Manu, Nat Butcher, Connor Watson). Otherwise lack of talent at key positions (e.g. the halves, I mean we had Jackson Hastings and Jayed Nikorima in the halves for a chunk of the season) plus injuries killed the season.
