Roosters exiting with dignity?

I haven't seen any tales to the contrary as yet, but it seems the Roosters have copped their fate on the chin. A far cry from the Melbourne whingefest we endured earlier this week.

Nice to see, just like The Raiders and Dragons last week. Sportsmanship and dignity reigns - after last week, gee it's refreshing!

What a bunch of whingers complaining about a few beer bottles been thrown at them. The fans were just trying to help them get a drink and this is how they repay a good deed?

Seriously though the roosters aren't allowed to complain for the next 10 years after that penalty try decision.

Yeah, I've never been a big fan of the Roosters but I think they've handled themselves very well. It must be pretty tough to take since they've kept putting themselves in good positions and haven't been able to finish off. But the only whinging I've seen out of the camp has been about the beer bottles, and that's perfectly justified.

Ahem, this didn't happen in Queensland where such things are the norm around footy players.

This happened in the real world.

Didn't realise the Broncos were in attendance!

That penalty try decision was NOT an obvious mistake. The radio guys discussed it after replays and decided that it could well be a penalty try. Naturally the Warrior fans and the huge band of Roosters haters were screaming foul. Tonight you will find dissent with decisions favourable to the Broncos because they, like the Roosters, are not liked by most fans from other clubs.

I think they are probably happy with where they got.
The Roosters weren't going to win the GF,they have things they need to address and to fix up before they really can contest.

I'm sure Freddy is proud of them making it this far comparing to the last few seasons.

While I've been absolutely stunned and stoked by the way certain Roosters fans who post here but I must say they must've been proud of the way the Roosters had played through out the majority of the year before they hit their decline.

They'll be back next year better for the experience.

yep I'm so proud of the boys. I never really thought they would be in the gf but they played a f**ker of a season to make it to the top four and then the top six.

they didn't deserve to beat the warriors the way the teams played tonight but I'm proud anyway. GOOD WORK BABIES.

ok I don't really get the penalty try though. I don't like a rule where you're basically saying you would have scored a try if not for whatever it was that deserved a penalty.

how can you ever know they would have unless they did? does that make any sense? I may be slightly hungover.

I think there has to be a strong case for the potential try scorer like there was for Craig Smith. In terms of Minichiello there were too many forces working against him to clearly give him a penalty try.

I don't know why Warriors fans are complaining though. If it wasn't going to be a penalty try it was going to be a 10 minute sin bin with a Roosters possesion 10m out.

I wasn't around here in 04, but I've always thought we're only arseholes to the souths dragons and occasionally dogs fans. Who thoroughly deserve it mind you
Anyway, proud of a 4th place finished, some fine tuning could see us a huge threat next year. Fix up those second halves a bit.... Imo we showed we have the side that can match it with anyone at times this year, just didn't click as consistently as we would have liked i guess.

Sure I'm dissapointed we bowed out last night, and had to finish the season on such a low note, but what is there to complain about? Ref was sh*t but was sh*t to both teams. Warriors didn't use underhanded moves or strategies to win.

The way I'm looking at this is that this year was great. Most people predicted we would be 8-12, we came 4th meaning we exceeded most people's expectations. We are a very raw team as a whole and have an extremely inexperienced coach and halfback, 2 of the most important parts of the team. We played so sh*t in so many games yet we still came away with wins and made the top 4. We blooded 3 great rookies in Cherrington, Friend and Jones all of whom have big potential, and signed a few promising youngsters. I say the future is looking quite bright.
