So Mark, say if someone like ANZ Bank came in and offered half a million a year more than Pirtek? You think Parramatta would tell Pirtek to go away, or offer them something less than what their contract currently states?

I don't think so.
I think Mickdo was right yesterday.

Suity

Seems to have already happened Suity, on two occasions, so I don't think it is out of the realms of possibility.

Yes and isnt this the argument I still dont understand the pain away link?

Okay, so Pain-away are our new sleeve sponsor.

Before that, however they wanted to sponsor the club during our Run to the finals, but there was no space available on the kit.

So, Firstly the players start mentioning (Hayne in Particular) that they are feeling good because of the Awesome "Pain-Away" Products. Seriously all but one Post game TV interview in the last 8 weeks of the season mentioned Pain-Away.

Next, Pain away, according to a source on this Board, Pay for and use a "Blue and Gold Army" Banner at the Grand Final. We are also told this will be in use at home games in 2010.

Next, it seems Pain-away stumped up enough cash to get onto the Players Shorts as a sponsor for 1 game, the Grand Final. Replacing Denlo Subaru, a sponsor of the club through their VW and Subaru dealerships for over 7 years if I figure right.

Now they are our sleeve sponsors. Replacing AMO.

If there are sponsors waiting to get on board, as was the New boards assertion before they were elected, then surely they would have taken the same route or a similar one.

If Pain-away is a Sleeve Sponsor, and the going rate for one of those is between $250,000 and $300,000 then if there are as touted Millions of Dollars lining up, what is stopping them from coming forward, and having a visual association with the club.

Is it the Marketing Manger, is he failing to land any of these big accounts?

I thought it would have been a lot funnier if it was Horny Goat Weed instead of Pain-Away coming on board, and hearing our players try to talk up Horny Goat Weed in all of those post-match interviews

A belated Happy New Year to you all. I've been flat chat with work. This thread has been thoroughly entertaining this evening however and has provided much humour. Good to see alot of you still posting like crazy and the rumour mill working overtime on numerous threads. I hope you are all well. Regards,

maybe its the sponsors? - maybe they don't want to be a sleave sponsor? maybe its all or nothing? .... i think you're jumping to alot of conclusions .... for a big money sponsor I would assume its about maximum exposure, not just getting a little foot in the door for some smaller amount of money

I dunno - I'm not in marketing, but I can understand that maybe sponsors have requirements for what THEY want to do - not what's nice for the club

Sorry, probably doesn't need to be said. Just immature and childish. Probably should be a breathaliser on my laptop.
A good glass of red will do that occasionally.

Absolutely, I think 9 months to a year is plenty of grace period. They are lining up for their 2nd NRL season, the first one they have had to plan for, I think now more than any time is the time to expect some of the much requested changes to the club, that the new members of both boards were voted in to deliver.

We await with baited breath those changes.

Is that like the cat who ate a block of cheese and waited for the mouse with baited breath?

Pain Away are throwing a lot of money over the next three years so they would be entitled to appear where ever they like on our playing stip. More the Denlo/Suburu are putting in.

Regarding AMO, although no longer a sleeve sponsor, we have not lost their corporate support, they are still a sponsor and will be part of something else involved in the Leagues Club as far as I know.

Thank you for proving my point.

That is something I would like to see.

Pirtek have been told to go away twice??
Well, I never knew that.

Thanks for the heads up mate.

Suity

Funnily enough no, Reports during the Finals run or off season show Ossie is still chasing Pirtek hard to resign when there deal comes due.

Jodeci has already referred to the Minor Sponsors who were inconvenienced, shall we say during the last week of the season.

AMO decided mid way during the year not to continue their sleeve sponsorship.

They were getting great exposure though not banking any bucks.

Their new role in the club will see them banking more bucks not only for their organisation but also our Club.

To be honest, I think the new board have been a massive success, with their major addition to the club as a whole being the installation of auto doors to the Sterlo balcony. That's worth the price of re-election alone.
