I reckon if Cornish had played the Broncos would have put 30 on us.
Source???? they may have scored 30 but who knows we just may have scored 20. Once again overstating Kelly's defence just to prove some point. Anyone that would be happy to see Kelly ever again in an Eels jersey needs their heads read. Especially if Foran,Norman,Cornish, the groundsman, Paul Cariges left nut or my nan are available.

Agree with the first sentence. But power is not a static force, and it's how you use what power/knowledge you have that counts. There are individual differences in skill levels that can counteract the impact of power differentials.

My decisions are fine thanks. And since we're only talking about opinions (rather than decisions), I'm quite happy in those as well. Is it really your opinion that we should stick with kelly next week - or is it your opinion that you'll just acept what the powers that be decide, and fall in behind in support?

My opinion is if we had to partner a half with a back rower then Cornish would be better. Cornish would probably be a better partner for Foran as well.

But Kelly is a better partner for Nornan. I predicted weeks ago that he would partner Norman if need be. And now that he has played (assuming he and Cornish are second tier) Kelly has the inside running.

Anyway I genuinely believe Kelly is a better defender than Cornish (and yes Kelly is the weakest link in our defensive line) and I think defence is very important. Even for halfbacks.

Four years of Sandow convinced me of that.

I will be very surprised if Cornish plays ahead of Kelly next week. But if he does and you need me to admit I'm wrong, I'll do it right now in advance. Being wrong isn't the big deal you seem to think it is.
Being "wrong" isn't the issue. Highlighting you own hypocisy for a laugh is the main sport
You're very insecure about it. Probably because you've never had any authority.
Um.. no, hardly insecure. And.. no :).

I just don't subscribe to the view that authority should be blindly followed. Imo to be in any way valid, "authority" should be regularly re-earnt, not just vested once upon a time and blindly followed. Of course, the forces and organised religions would fall over tomorrow if that view was more widely adopted, but that might not be such a bad thing.

Just got back from th game

With 10 minutes to go, a rather large fan stood up in front of the coaches box and yelled at BA " just get him off, he is friggin useless and not a footballers a..hole" he continued shouting and more stood up and joined in. Much applause for him in the Thornett stand

Don't think it would have been shown on TV and my daughter who was sat opposite through the it may have been a fight given the commotion

Some good players tonight, Scott, Gordon Mau, Pritchard livened up the whole process

Kelly is at least half a step behind every play, most obvious were his passes as players went past him as he was too slow in setting up and they went to ground.that coupled with his slowness in general. He as absolutely dreadful and if he is picked again it's a pretty damning indictment on the coaching staff

As I walked out the comments were, he wouldnt get a game at Cabramatta, the fans were pissed off big time that he was in the team, he is nowhere near NRL level and never will be

Sorry Pou, but that's really what it was like
But Cornish would have went worse.......

I saw the game too mate. Kelly struggled after Norman went off, but I also saw Norman struggle while he was on the field. The Broncos' defence was outstanding. I actually thought ours was pretty good too.

Another quality contribution from the forums nut job. Got anything to add on Kelly continually being picked and failing or are you just going to post some more pics that add nothing to the conversation at hand.

Thanks for the opinion - much better than psouting truisms about "the coach knows more info" etc :thumn

I agree Kelly is better defensive player than Cornish, and I'd hesitate to see Cornish promoted to first grade.

Also interesting points about Cornish being a better partner for say Edwards or Foran (in Norman's absence), and Kelly best suiting Norman. And good pick up with the second tier aspect - unless Kelly has become first tier in Morgan's place, he'll likely be first promoted next time we can't manage the absence of a half.

I'm hopeful with Wicks, Gower, Watmough to come into the 17 in coming weeks, we'll be able to cover one spot in the halves with a forward option, and not need to call on Kelly (or Cornish).

 You're very hung up on the authority side of things, little man. This is just about who has the best information. I don't take orders from Brad Arthur any more than you do.

What the f**k did we do to deserve both Luke Kelly playing first grade, and Pou posting on this forum? Guessing somebody made a deal with the devil to get the four premierships we have, and this is what we are now getting in return.

I won't let you have your scapegoats, will I? Anyway, it sounds like your beef is with the coach, and we all know how well that keeps turning out.

I think BA got him from Melbourne when BA was coaching there and had a relationship with him

The reality appears to be that the club had to resign Kelly due to the number of games he played last year and the impact it would have had on the cap if he was released

The problem remains is that he is a favourite of the coach as he was captain of the winning NYC team he coached. Unfortunately he is a complate handbrake on the team which has moved on from his level of play

He is not anywhere NRL standard , and to be honest often struggles at Wenty, he appears to there because of what he a should do rather than what he does

The fans are losing patience with his selection, and whilst you love to be an island in the midst of a storm, this does not help the coach who has seen the fans support him over the past 2 years, but enough is enough, tonight should have answered the question - he is not going to get any better and is not beneficial to the team going forward.

Agreed. Once Norman went off the Broncos were able to put him under massive pressure.

Can you guess how many of our forwards made 100 metres?

Where has winning the first game of the season got us the last 4 years?

I reckon losing today is a great omen.

Well BA will die on this sword if he doesnt make the 8 this year I reckon
