Round 1 V West Tigers

No Sailor in the team is the biggest disappointment for mine.

He did nothing in the Trials to warrant selection apart from a good 9 minutes in the 9's. Lomax made a number of try saving tackles in the Trials that Sailor wouldn't have come close to making and if you're thinking he's a half, he's got Hunt, Norman and Clune ahead of him there. If Lomax fails, which I think is unlikely, Sailor will probably get a shot. Until then he can hone his skills in CC.

I’m more excited about Aitkan’t being dropped than any other selection to be honest. One of the worst players to ever wear the Red V.
I would say Aitken's heart is in it and he takes the ball up hard, but that doesn't translate to being the centre we need. He is another heart attack player.

He’s a 2nd rower. And I think he’d be quite an effective one.

Hell no ! Not at this club please. He's a weak link is what he is, anywhere he plays. His positional play in defence is abysmal. I hope never to see him in firsts again, not in the big red V.

I nearly fell off my chair at the omission of Aitken. I will probably throw it when he gets swapped in an hour before kick off with the bald one looking smug with his selection in the pre game interview. Bench looks a bit light and I wonder which one will get the token 5 minutes in junk time while Jammer goes the whole 80.

Lets hope Flanno runs the bench and we notice a big difference there. It’s really not that hard but the bald one is quite limited with his coaching brains

Possibly not at this club, we have a good selection..

But when you have a player who is a strong runner of the ball, can carry a few defenders with him, but of pace when in space but doesn’t have a passing game & is only effective in group tackles, you’d place him in the second row..

I reckon that’s the spot he’ll end up playing one day..

Where? I dunno..
When? I dunno..
How? Stop asking me questions please..
Why? Because I’m sick of answering myself.

I’ve been off the grid for about 6 months & only just starting to catch up on league. I’m not expecting much from us because I just can’t see how we’ve progressed in terms of players & off field(save for Flanno but we know that assistants still our club, in recent years, are generally a scapegoat). Lomax at FB is a change but he really is green in that spot. It would have been useful to give him time there last year but.... well, that’s just going over old ground.
The Tigers have a lot of pieces to still come together so I’m hoping that the advantage of playing at WIN is enough to get us over the line.

I was more thinking off the bench, out of interest though if Lomax fails would you put Dufty or Sailor at fullback? I'll rule out Norman from this equation only because I don't rate him their.
