No, the ball should have gone to Tahu. The cutuout was the wrong option from Boyd, it would have been a simple case of draw-and-pass for Tahu.

It was the wrong idea from Boyd. The poor execution was secondary.

Agreed.

The sharks are also on fire and look good. They'll be up there or there abouts come September.

Don't know whether it's because Aku is marked more heavily or its because of Tahu, but Macca seems to be getting on the outside of his wingers a lot more than Aku is. I love Macca and yes he generally makes a good run, but he can't finish it off unless he has unmarked men inside to pass to.
Is switching Tahu to the right side an option?

I never watched press conferences, as I found them quite boring, but with Wayne as coach they are one of the best parts of the week.

I dont know what it is, he really shouldnt be likeable, but the way he delivers those pressers makes you want to see more of it.

How do you think Thurston went?

I wasnt watching him.

Wayne's smirk is one of a kind. He just has them in the palm of his hand those journos. He never gives generic replies. The JT comment was gold.

It has a lot to do with the players inside them, not only the centre but the back rower too. House, sau and wes are all play killers who don't promote the ball well or create for the men outside them. It is also probably other teams being coached not to give Aku space, they know they can't let him on the outside and they know our backrower and centre aren't much threat or hard to handle so they slide early.

That's my take anyway. I would swap Tahu and play house at lock to help the problem personally.

Our problem in attack is the positioning of players off the ball during the ball movement. They stagnate waiting for the play to happen rather than actually complementing the play by moving off of the ball. Opposition teams don't move up because essentially we give them no reason to. They just sit and wait and swallow us like a fly landing on a venus fly trap. I feel our team as individuals are generally gun shy from a tactical perspective. Boyd, Buderus and Mason are smart footballers. The rest are too busy worrying about getting the ball up field on every play without actually thinking about how to get it there. Mullen needs to learn to kick early when the space is there. Go into dummy half like cam Smith if he needs to to make sure he gets the ball when he needs it to give it the punt.

Depends on how much coin. We could have an awesome backline if he did join.

1. Boyd (QLD + AUS)
2. McManus (Former NSW)
3. Jennings (NSW)
4. Tahu (Former NSW + AUS)
5. Aku (NSW + AUS)
6. Mullen (Former NSW)
7. Pearce (NSW)

Now that's a backline.:)
