2 against Souths. Schneider scoring one of them.
1 against Dolphins.

The second he is on the field our attack turns to shit and every touch he has makes everyone less effective.

How many games do we need to see our attack flow without Schneider in the team, and for it to get clunky and non existent with him in it?

He makes the entire team worse.

Weird team selections all round this week. Cup also have a half and outside back on the bench. Meanwhile Tua Patea has been picked at 6 in flegg and hes only ever played centre the last two years.

We scored 32 last week and Toelau played 27 minutes. Every point we scored happened while Toelau was off the field. And the only points we conceded last week happened while Toelau was on the field.

Schneider or Toelau, I pick Brad because he looks a better defender. That is it really.

If you use a loose definition of the term covering halves and hooker. Sure.

But apply that same definition to any player and they can all do it. Well maybe not goal kicking. But when Schneider plays a goal kicker isn’t necessary anyway.

Schinder is the questionable pick. I’m really not sure what he offers over TT or Cole.

Toelau has been on the field for 2 tries in 2 games.

Schneider has been on the field for 3 tries in 5 games.

Neither would be my 14. Sommerton > Cole personally. But theres a pretty decent sample size that shows how Brad Schneider makes the team less effective. Toelau isn’t great. Im not saying he is. But he isn’t as bad as Schneider.

The stats for Schneider:

Panthers with no Schneider - 20 tries in 4 games (average 5.0)

Panthers with Schneider (but on bench) - 13 tries in 5 games (average 2.6)

Panthers with Schneider on field - 3 tries in 5 games (average 0.6)

You can easily see how poor we look when he is on the field. Stats back up how I see it. I don’t want Toelau into our top 17 though. But after a big win, surely one of the guys who filled in should keep the 14. Kenny deserves the 9. But that 14 is somehow given to someone who has done nothing to deserve it.

For Toelau I am torn between him and Laurie as third choice utility. Laurie has proven handy a few times.
