Round 10 Vs Warriors

You can explain our season with shitty discipline, fitness and coaching spiraling into a lack of confidence and desire. No need for conspiracies.
You may be right. But that's not to say that (supposedly) there aren't a lot of videos out there. And as the media were reporting at the time, a few(?) players were nervous once the May thing came out.

What I find really disturbing is that, when teams lose, a coach or player will often say 'we didn't carry out our game plan' or 'we got away from our game plan'. The fact that no one is saying this makes it look like we WERE playing to our game plan. And the coach is mystified as to why we aren't winning (penalties and errors aside).

Cleary & Maloney have had more than enough decent ball this year to do something, anything. Pointing the finger at both Hooker’s is a cop out. If anything the lack of creativity or penetration is compounding the pressure on our inexperienced 9’s.
There's not a hooker in the competition with slower service than our pair. A good hooker makes everyone who gets the ball look better.

Even shitty average halves look better with a good hooker. A good hooker will put guys over the line himself from dummy half. Hitting the right players with quick crisp passes from dummy half is where momentum comes from along with darting from dummy half themselves.

Our hookers are not close to good enough in running the ball, distributing the ball or reading the game for 80 minutes.

Our halves aren't playing well at the moment. But they are not the reason our hookers suck. It shouldn't be coaching either as Ivan last year had Brooks win a f**king Dally M medal, he had Benji and Farah playing great footy. Yet obviously something is rotten in coaching this year. Its one of MANY issues this year. And sadly for 4 years beyond this year.

Ivan and Maloney combined for their first grand final together at Warriors. Ivan and Soward took us to week 3 of finals together. In previous years spine players have thrived under him. Although he has always had quality hookers.

Luai looked better at hooker than Katoa last night... and we looked better as a result . Not much better... not good. But slightly less shit.

Sorry but this started when we shafted our coach 4 weeks from a potential top 4 finish because a few players & our GM thought he was too stubborn. The dynamic of the club changed there & then. The power shifted towards the players & this is the end result. Lazy, unfit, unmotivated & comfortable.

Once again the same few players will likely get the heat - Katoa, Edwards, Whare. But f**k me, at least those blokes have a crack & try to lift the energy on the field through their actions.
Ithink we all agree that the club stuffed up, but we're stuck with the problem now and I believe the coach should take ownership of the problem.
A few weeks ago, after a narrow loss to the Sharks, the Melbourne coach at his presser said that his players were moving away from the game plan and if that was to continue, well, he would be looking for new players soon. They followed that up with 2 wins and then the thumping of the Eels.
The thing that stood out to me was the public ownership of a below par performance and consequences for the players. A good lesson in leadership, something that seems to be lacking in Dave's mate.
I think he needs to try some of this to at least get the fans onside.

I don’t think Katoa played well last night but Luai’s distribution wasn’t in the same hemisphere. He looked decent jumping out of DH & not knowing what the f**k to do, because it was probably the least predictable we were all night.

I’m not giving our hookers a free pass, they’ve got to improve, BUT 9/10 times the halves get the ball in the 20 with plenty of time & space, the fact we have so many repeat sets from kicks is probably proof that they’re getting enough time with the ball to consistently thread a kick.

Anyway, I don’t think we’ll ever agree.

Clearly will no doubt name a unchanged team. And then still wonder why we loose
I hope this idea that dropping internationals and bringing up reserve graders will make a team play better has been well and truly put to bed by now. You've got players of proven ability. They make errors or aren't as involved as they need to be. You sit down with them and discuss what is needed. If there are problems you get to the bottom of them. Dropping players for lesser players doesn't work.

Dropping players just shows that no one is safe and there is a certain standard we need to be playing at each week you dont need to drop them for 3 weeks but show them that when they play shit you know what happens.

It is about finding form for those internationals going forward. They are going no where so whatever it takes too fire them up

but you can only base it on current form. Keep picking the same team you get the same results

James Maloney has pleaded guilty to the dangerous contact charge from this match. Surprising, since it would have still been 1 game if he'd contested it and lost. Maybe the coach has decided it would be a good time to give Luai a game in the 6.

Well said - he needs to take ownership but he won't. He's simply a very poor coach.

Can somebody make list of our top 30 players so we can see who can be chosen. Those playing in Canterbury Cup may not be able to play.
