Right so on the 5th tackle, Chrissy bolts forward to the defensive line, and Reece quickly runs back to be in position before the ball is played. Yeah - that will work.

And if Sandow is back there - they WILL put up a bomb on the 3rd - who wouldn't?

On the fifth tackle I would imagine that both wingers and the fullback will be back waiting for the kick... It's not rocket science.

Who's putting up a decent bomb for Souths with Reynolds out in any case?

I'd be very surprised if they did. League is a possession game and bombs are a lottery. Anyone knows you just have to complete your sets against us and you will probably win. I'd love if if they started putting bombs up mid set!

We successfully managed to play Sandow at fullback against the Dogs last year, albeit with the element of surprise.
In fact he managed to get MOM from memory so whatever tactics our supposedly tactic-less coach came up with worked.

it helped the Dogs halves were Cook and T. rex from memory, their kicking game put no pressure on him at all.

At the end of the day what do we really have to f$%king lose by playing Sandow at fullback? Not a lot, so it's probably worth the gamble

Maybe just because if he actually does reasonably well many are terrified they may re- sign him to another 5 years

Doesn't anyone understand that Sandow is gone? He won't be here next year. And this season is gone. It doesn't matter if we play him at fullback or prop or make him the f**king coach. Parramatta (yet again) is starting all over again. We'll come last this year, and it will probably take another four or five years before we are in a position to realistically challenge for the title. Four or five years worth waiting for if you're a relatively new Eels fan. But when you've been supporting this club for as long as I have, four or five years of trying desperately to keep that hope going might not really be worth the effort.

I've had a think about this conundrum and believe I've come up with a solution...

We just disregard the referees 10 metres and defend 10 metres out from our own line for the whole game... Much easier for Reece to sprint back to cover Chrissy if they put up a bomb on the 3rd tackle...

We're still a couple of wins from 5th spot...we're still in this competition up to our eyeballs. Giving up too easy is why we've been poor on the field for too long.

You mean, like, laying on the ropes? Could work.

Welcome to the bizarre world that is Parra...

If they are going to punt him end of year anyway then no point sending him down to wenty to improve his game, may as well let him finish his contract in firsts and then be done with him. Kelly, even at his best, is not an improvement.

Why bother dropping him in the first place then?

Might not have been a lie.
May have been form based but cap issues drove the timing.

Besides he needed to make changes to try something different.

Imagine if we fit Hayne into the cap in 2016. The Telegraph would be in meltdown. But the Roosters can sign SBW and Jennings at the last minute.
